Would improve the FC side hugely though. OD side this season wasn't too bad, just needs some middle order depth.

Would also break up either of the two successful opening stands for Green in FC - Lezama-Malone and Malone-Scott.

I'd be pretty happy to slot down the order in FC games - I'm only really a makeshift opener in the longer version of the game. Much prefer it at three or four.

I doubt I would bat up the order in ODs, played most of my career as middle order batsmen and filled in as backup to the opening spot. I don't think I would add anything significant in that form, even though I had my best season last year. Just some extra depth, which is what Green need rather then just a star. Mind you a batting all rounder would be handy, with longish tail.

Personally even though Don had a good season as keeps improving at the top of the order, he started off as a makeshift opener. He had his best seasons as middle order batsmen, I think he even made the A side in the off season I signed up as a middle order keeper batsmen. Reckon me and Bugs could be a world class opening combinations, rather then just a decent domestic combination.

One of main reason I also considered coming to Green was to bat in the top order with Scott. I enjoyed batting with him at U19 level and was a good guy to have at the other end. Very talented batsmen.

Just my two cents.

Worth noting that Nick Scott has opened the batting at first-class level with both generations of Webhead Malones.

Scott's been batting at 3 for most of this season. Lezama did a solid job opening this season, just about getting over the 1000 mark, with Thamba in the side we'd have the luxury of options and the chance to rejig the order if necessary.

Would seriously dent my chances of getting a run in the team tbh, especially at OD, where after a poor start never got a 2nd chance. Another batsman would pretty much put me on the scrap heap.

You'd still be breaking up the 10th most successful opening partnership in Dev League history. The 5th best involving active players.

Based on those stats, Scott and Malone would appear to be the way to go, 3 matches together and averaging very highly.

i'm easy with what happens with me tbh - I understand i'm not as much of a gun as a few of the other batsmen in our side especially in FC cricket so yeah. Enjoyed batting number 3 in OD this year though I don't think I went too poorly either tbh

You're an integral part of the OD lineup after this season. Burst into the team and took the chance very well.
