To be fair to Woods, he had the match won until it became obvious that Europe had retained the trophy.
And he shouldn't have taken such a lax attitude. The USA could have still "halved" the tournament rather than losing it and wouldn't have shared in the record for the biggest choke. In fact, probably setting a new record as they've done it at home. Couldn't believe Woods didn't make Molinari take the putt.

That was simply the greatest night of sport I have ever had the privilege to witness. Loved the fightback, never expected to win it but was proud how they gave it a go. To eventually get over the line and see a couple of games turn from 1 down after 16 to wins was amazing. Can't wait till Gleneagles when the crap tee shots by the Yanks WILL get punished.
Only watched the last day but it was generally the Europeans that were spraying it everywhere

They won by virtue of holing miracle chips/putts not straight tee shots

A mate of mine who I used to play golf with got his spot on the PGA Tour next year after many years of slogging it out on the Web.com Tour. Finished 15th this year to automatically qualify for the step up. He's worked his arse off and is a top bloke, would love to see him go well next year.

Good to see Scott win the Oz Masters but sad to see how far the tourney has fallen

Used to attract a very high quality field (hint to organisers: dont schedule it on the same weekend as 2 European Tour events, you dumb ****s) and got great TV ratings

This event only had a few world class players and they literally couldnt give the coverage away for free to the commercial channels

IMG run the Masters, while one of their main competitors is used by the main Australian golfing body to run every other tournament; so the Masters in the last two years has been treated as the poor cousin.

The mate I mentioned above came tied for 7th at the Aussie Open this week. His name's Scott Gardiner, he's been in a few of the papers the last couple of weeks after qualifying for the PGA Tour. As I said above, lovely bloke and hope he goes well in the US.

Very talented player who I thought had fallen off the radar

However, seems as if he has been plying his trade on the minor tours in the US for the past 8 years or so

Good luck to him as pro golf is a tough gig if you arent one of the relatively few guys that make a living out of it

Oh wow that's awesome. Channel 7 were saying he's the first ever Aboriginal player to qualify for the PGA?

Yeah he has been slugging it out over there for a while. He did well on the Aussie Tour when he first started and then headed to the U.S via Europe. used to get pretty homesick travelling around I think and would head home for a visit more often than maybe he should have. Has also been unlucky to miss out a couple of times on getting to the PGA Tour before.

He's a very approachable and down-to-earth bloke. Would be great to see him go well this year. He's married to an American girl and I think settling down in the U.S has helped him a bit too.

Yeah apparently he is. His mum is Aboriginal and teaches at the local school. They're a really nice family actually and have given Scotty a lot of support along the way.

Scotty Gardiner currently 8 under with 3 holes to go in the second round at the Sony Open. In 7th place. Hopefully he finishes well and has a good weekend.

Edit: **** it, jinxed the bloke. Will probably double 16.

Do I lay off on Justin Rose, seems pointless really, he's a decent front-runner and there's no real quality behind, oh and I've backed Jaidee anyway.
