so who all are people's picks for the u.s open?
Well, don't ask me, I'm going through the worse betting run of my life:@

Yet, if you want to know who to avoid, I'm backing Choi, Goosen, Weir and Romero. All have the games to win, I would of thought and have decent form this season, except Goose, who I'm backing as an US Open specialist. Considered Harrington, Leonard and Furyk too. Yet it's fairly wide open, TBH with Woods being a cripple 'n' all.

100-1, Choi was particularly inviting at Totesport, I thought.

i doubt if weir is long enough to make an impact on the south course...choi, goosen and romero are all steady players and could do well there...furyk on the surface doesn't look like a good bet but he has done very well in the tournament in the past...did you see harrington's comment that since he is playing poorly coming in, he has a good chance of doing well, supposedly he plays well when he is out of form and doesn't when he is in form and expected to play well.. ...i would take a crippled woods over this lot any day...many people are making mickelson the favourite going in...other people that i think might have a shot are ogilvy, kim/cink(if they can handle the pressure), snedeker, stenson, garcia, maybe casey and baddeley as well...

Mediate leading as I go to bed on day two. Eastern Seaboard golf isn't conducive to Norwegians.

Couple of Swedes reasonably high up on the leaderboard, don't think they'll last the distance though. Only 11-4 on Tiger at present, which I agree with, he'll come good.

Appleby, Allenby, and Ogilvy all up there at the moment. I think the other Australian golfers need to add a y to their name.

Come on Apples!

appleby leads after 36....woods has started playing well but the knee certainly seems bothersome, let's see whether he can keep this going...

woody austin is such a pathetic, cheap, jealous piece of ****....supposedly woods just needs to hang in there and good things just magically happen to him all the time, he just has it so easy...the prick's lame "explanation" after stating that woods was not a tough player...no woody, he is simply 10 times better than you, and he has got infinitely more mental toughness, discipline and consistency than you....that's why he wins around 30-35 times for each of your wins...

rocco has come back to the pack, it's now westwood alone at the top, the only one under par and tiger's knee is hurting him big-time now...can he continue for another 18 hole day?

Hi Anil. The timing of this tournament, means I'm not watching much of it, I'm afraid. Need to get up at about 5 on wednesday to catch a train so i'll be able to watch the rain come down at Edgebaston, so am trying to get some early nights. I may record it tonight, watch it some other time, without finding out the score hopefully.

Looks like I missed an awesome finish by Woods, when I go to bed he looks to be struggling, with his game and his knee. normally you'd just give him the title from here, but with his health problems, I'm still not sure. It would be his GREATEST achievement if he was to take this out, IMO.

Lee's the type that won't be over-awed, mind. So laid-back it's incredible, and I think he's quite friendly with the Tiger. Must admit I wouldn't of thought he'd of ever done well in a US Open, patience is not normally his forte. His talent deserves a major really, but don't think it will be here. Blighty hasn't had a major winner this millenium, so it would be nice.

*Grecian spoiler alert*

Sigh Westwood. Eight straight pars, goes and birdies the ninth, then misses three drives in a row and loses touch with Tiger.

At least that means I can go to bed with the result not in doubt.

Woods.

How can something be both unbeleiveable yet so unsurprising? The man's a genius.
