I've been saying for some time that Lara is an under-rated fielder. That's the second amazing one-handed catch he's taken in that position for the year.

I don't see what he'll offer really in Tests. He'll keep it tight no doubt, but doesn't have that much pace or do that much with the ball to warrant a specialist spot in the current West Indies attack. I'd go with a fit Pedro Collins first.

I just hope if Trescothick gets in he doesn't do his usual getting-caught-out-to-the-crappy-spinner-to-one-of-the-only-2-men-in-the-deep whilst trying to 'exploit' the 15 over restrictions.

Except Gayle is the only "spinner" we'd use in the first 15 and he's a notch above crappy.

fair call i guess, except i was just so annoyed at their lack of competitiveness against england (in tests) i wanted him to have a go so badly, try something new. england are dead-meat against left arm pacers after all... Collins and Bradshaw to open?

i honestly rate collins, i think hes pretty good, hes got some good pace. ill never forget his wicket of elliott on his test debut, beautiful ball.
