The FINAL- South Africa vs India (D), Kensington Oval, Barbados-- June 29th

Some of Pant's outs are so infuriating......
In his defense , he doesn’t waste balls .Imagine KL Rahul and Kohli batting in final. We would have struggled to get 150.

I still can’t believe we didn’t hit a boundary for 20 overs in ODI WC Final. Is Axar Patel a better batsman than KL Rahul?

Don't know if that's a much solid defense. It's not just in T20s, does this in ODIs as well. I love Pant, but he really needs to work more on his temperament.

Always felt KL legitimately just blanks out on the field of play. Like he's away travelling astrally or something while the shell stays back at the crease with a thumb up its arse.

Rahul scored 66 runs off 107 balls with 1 boundary. It was one of the most pathetic batting efforts ever. Kohli meanwhile looked good 54 off 63 balls. India really missed Pandya and Axar who are two genuine all rounders in LO.

Next cup is in South Africa, I wonder what the team would look like?

Whatever it takes!!!
You guys are overthinking a simple thing. There are many class batsmen who cant rotate strike. Kallis was quite block/bash in LO cricket, and Rahul is just the latest in that line. People take dexteric maneovring of the ball like Virat does now and Sachin, Sourav etc used to do earlier for granted. But its far tougher than it looks, esp. over that many overs. Also with the 5th fielder inside the circle, you need to actually commit to your shots sometimes even for singles.

As much as I love Pant, not sure we can ever expect him to be consistent enough in these formats. I had expectations from him up the order but his style of play is too unpredictable to be reliable. He had an extended run at 3 this WC but fluctuated wildly between looking great and doing Hail Mary-type things. Impossible to tell if he's out of form or just being himself. Maybe we can afford one wild card like that with all the talent around him and given his keeping...?
Yeah Pant has given no confidence. It's not "that's how he plays" issue. That's SKY. And you know there is a method to SKY's madness. Pant is seemingly playing completely arbitrary shots. Or if there's a method, it's not coming through anyway. Should let him boss tests. Get someone else in t20s.

tbh i would play pant at #3 for a year and let him figure it out

if he fails i'd bat him at 7 after that. if he come off great, if not #7 is a useless spot given our top/middle order
agreed this 3 role suits him and he needs more time there, he can be our Maxwell and he has been great in the ipl too so its not like he cant play t20 cricket

Top angle camera shot from behind the boundary confirms that his foot is well inside and not touching any cushion/rope.

The other camera shot that is being circulated is very unreliable because it is "compressing" many metres and centimetres of space. It is not giving you the "depth" around the boundary space. So you get the illusion that his foot is very close to touching the cushion of the rope. But it wasn't. And any minor movement is probably just grass/soil.

Because top angle shot (which gives you accurate vision around the boundary space) clearly shows his feet were well inside the rope.

What about the line? I read that if the rope or cushion has been pushed back that the line is what matters.

Some are saying line is from the previous match as different pitch was used in that match . For the final Center pitch was used , so rope was pushed back . Has happened previously as well in other ICC tournaments.
