Loads of talent , Loads of chances across formats but terribly inconsistent players.
Which of these 4 have disappointed you the most ?

Markram and its not close. Did Mendis actually have high expectations? I don’t recall that. Any Litton expectations were always tempered by him being Bangladeshi.

In SL definitely, especially after that maiden Test hundred vs Australia..Been a frustrating player for us

And don't get how Markram is the most disappointing. His Test average of 35 is very consistent with his FC average of 43. In fact he averages 43 in home tests (and 22 away). Anything above that would be overachievement.

I mean, you can also say he is disappointing in FC as well.

FC cricket encompasses all red ball cricket (Test cricket stats get added to FC stats) so its misleading to say his test average is consistent with his FC average because most players these days barely play red ball cricket outside of Test cricket once they are Test regulars.

40 of Markram's 93 FC games have been in Test cricket. To find out what he averages in the level below Test cricket you have to subtract the Test stats from the FC stats ,

So Markram actually averages 49.38 outside of Test Cricket

I think there is barely anyone who doesn't know that, but then, you would have to account for the bowling attack he faced in the FC matches (excluding tests). Including all FC matches sort of balances things out.
