The Dismantling of India

Whatever it takes!!!
OK, I saw this too late. Anyhow my sermon might do an iota of good :p

My posting is still about facts and debates with reasoning behind them. Dont see how that meant it goes to **** but anyways, I said I will try this ignoring for a while. But from past experience, I know using ignore function is a waste of time.

And to me, I dont mind TJB as much as LTM because at least TJB is trolling pro-Australia. If all LTM ever did is post pro-Pak like TJB does about Oz, I know I can ignore the majority of the posts. It is his constant Anti-India drivel that annoys me and for some reason, he keeps getting away with posting that ****.

And sorry smileyshah, I totally missed whoever these "millions" of Indian trolls were. Guess I was not as active in CW back then.

If Hazlewood and Starc can average 25 or thereabouts, Australia have a great chance.
Idk why everyone is taking Australia so lightly and pretty much writing them off..

In Warner & Smith, Aus possess two of the most explosive Test batsmen who can truly trouble India. While in the bowling department, there's a lethal worldclass bowler in Starc and an experienced spin pro in Lyon!

If these four had a good to great series, I expect Australia to run India close or closer than England at least.
I don't think it will be 4-0 this time around, not at all..

One of the following-
3-0, 3-1 or even 2-1 if things go well for Australia.

Agree. I think Australia have the best chance amongst the teams touring simply because they can bully our spinners with our bat, something I thought RSA could do but didn't (maybe due to the turners). And once you do that, our seamers become trash again as they cant bowl long spells sustaining the good stuff they do over short bursts and then it puts immense pressure on our batting and all it takes is a few bursts from Starc and the spinners to bowl containing and defensive lengths and suddenly, they are in the game and series. I fully expect the first test to set the tone and Australia to play really really well.

And FWIW, I think they will play this side if everyone holds up to form till the end of the Pak series down there.

Warner
Renshaw
Khawaja / S Marsh
Smith (c)
Handscomb
Cartwright / M Marsh
Wade / Nevill
Starc
Steve O Keefe
Lyon
Hazlewood

They can try to have their cake and eat it too by making Handscomb keep and play both Khawaja and S Marsh as well. They will surely come in with a lot of options.

Khawaja has improved a lot. Would like to see more of him against spin, but I expect him not to look like a bunny. Renshaw looked quite comfortable against Yasir. Smith is Smith and Handscomb is quite quick on his feet.

Starc has the ability to bowl unplayable stuff when he gets it right, in a way that Broad/Anderson don't have the ability to. He can take the pitch out of the equation and turn a match in the course of a session. Should be an interesting series.

What I'd pick:

Warner
Renshaw
S Marsh
Smith
Handscomb
AR (if Mitch Marsh can show a little bit of form I'd pick him, else Maxwell)
Nevill
O'Keefe
Starc
Lyon/Holland/Cummins/Pattinson
Hazlewood

Of course Wade will play because of muh aggression or something.

Come on now you can't just drop Usman even before it starts. Think he should get another chance to prove him self in the subcontinent since he is the designate no 3 and should be for a while.

Renshaw
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Handscomb
Marsh
Neville
Starc
SOK
Hazlewood
Lyon

I like to see them taking both Head and KP over there in case they have to drop Usman and Renshaw (both will be severely tested by Ashwin). Also pretty sure both Patto and Cummins are out of consideration

BW is posting in full PP mode here. Adjusting timelines randomly to help make his point :p And arguing a point no one has made.
Which timelines have I adjusted? I have applied the same timeline for everyone here. If anyone has been inconsistent, it has been those who are using Pakistan's 0-3 in South Africa 2013 but forgetting that other teams also have away defeats if we stretch it from 2013.
My point is simple, you want to go as far back as 2013? fine let's apply it for every team.
You want 2015? Fine let's apply it for every time.
Inconsistent is when we use 2013 against one team, but 2015 for the other.

I have used the last 2 years as a sample size for all teams because I feel teams do change a lot over time. But if you don't like that, that's fine. You tell me what year you would like to start with and we will do a comparison from that year. You want to start with 2013 to include Pakistan's South Africa series? That's fine with me. As long as it's consistent for every team :)

Why not give Handscomb the gloves and play the 5th bowler? Or is the Marsh in your side Mitch?

I said na, you need to look at the most recent series both home and away. Its as simple as that. I know due to scheduling issues some teams have not played some teams for a fair while but its as close to fair as you can get. And as I keep saying, no one is saying Pakistan is not a good team. OS said he would have them #2 with India being #1 and for me, they are amongst the 5 or so sides in contention to be #1 as I still do not think India is a clear #1. We were just pointing out that LTM's posts were as usual full of anti-facts. You just jumped in arguing a point no one made.

Oh no its Shaun. There should be a specialist keeper as well to stand up to the spinners. I'd definitely like to have a genuine 5th bowling option but i can't compensate batting beside two spinners can bowl long spells

Handscomb is an absolutely terrible keeper. Makes Wade look like Healy.

Thanks.. did not know that. :) Fair enough then, I guess. Only issue will be, if the 4 bowlers are used to the workloads that might come on them in these conditions.

- Get Smith bowling loads in the nets
- Get Faulkner to sharpen his cutters
- Have MMarsh on hold incase Maxwell doesn't work out
- Have SMarsh on hold incase one of the top order batsmen don't work out
- Pattinson/Cummins/Bird as reserve quicks. Bowl Haze into the ground and replace him when he breaks. Give Starc and Faulkner shorter spells because they need to survive the series
- Let Lyon set his own fields

Australia's best chance at victory IMO.

I'm liking the looks of this except Wade. I want a real keeper. No use trying to get the batting output of Gilchrist but forgetting that he was a mighty fine keeper too. Unless of course Wade is known for playing spin well. I like the idea of bowling Haze until he breaks.
