We won't be winning any titles this year if we let teams that are down and out back in it, boys. That's two in a row :(

We all went missing in the third and fourth innings of the match. Need to go the entire journey to win matches, really.

Horrible feeling right about now.

Catching up...

May 3
PE Young [8/10] - fine hundred, but a tad slow.
T Mamesh [2/10] - another futile start and ordinary glovework.
J Ullungura [9/10] - terrific innings and electric in the field.
SE Fuller [7/10] - started well but failed to press on; sharp with the ball.
BL Wilshere [1/10] - hardly turned up, but fielded well.
RF Bowen [5/10] - middle of the pack, as he didn't fail, but had little chance to succeed.
RGEWS Cribb [1/10] - reasonable bowling, but got a good ball.
GS Gooljar [0.5/10] - half a point for showing up.
JP May-Quinlan [1/10] - tried to do too much with the ball, and failed at it.
MJ Smith [6/10] - lots of heart with the ball.
RG Dunn [2/10] - he's had many better days... much better.

May 4
PE Young [8/10] - excellent hundred and decent second innings.
T Mamesh [6.5/10] - two more starts and still no big score, sigh.
J Ullungura [2/10] - loose cricket in both innings.
SE Fuller [4/10] - bowling his heart out, but he needs to give more with the bat.
RF Bowen [5/10] - courage under fire, but not carrying on.
RGEWS Cribb [1/10] - very little impact at all.
BL Wilshere [2/10] - disappointing given his role in the batting order.
RA Williams [5/10] - good batting and more steady bowling, but the wickets need to come soon!
AAA Collins [6/10] - the clear best of the seamers.
JP May-Quinlan [5/10] - still searching for consistency, but taking big wickets with good pace.
TJ Demeza [0.5/10] - oh dear...

May 5
PE Young [1/10] - two good shots and then out; not good enough!
T Mamesh [2/10] - lovely innings, but more very average glovework... Young may be pressuring soon.
J Ullungura [6/10] - good breezy innings, but needed to carry on.
SE Fuller [6/10] - sharp bowling again; failed when needed with the bat.
BL Wilshere [4/10] - decent knock, but needed to carry on and take the game home.
RF Bowen [7/10] - another very handy innings in testing circumstances; very impressive.
RGEWS Cribb [1/10] - out to spin and no impact with his own spin; struggling in the allrounder role.
JP May-Quinlan [3/10] - good effort, but couldn't quite settle against the Colts aggression.
MJ Smith [1/10] - very ordinary day at the office; lacking the biting edge of times past.
TJ Demeza [6/10] - pace... and control too!
RG Dunn [1/10] - really struggling right... under pressure with Payne, Gooljar and Williams waiting.

May 7
PE Young [5/10] - good half-century in the first; out at a horrible time in the second.
T Mamesh [2/10] - fingers crossed that runs are close by... definitely due!
J Ullungura [3/10] - still too loose at the number three spot, but good positive intent.
RGEWS Cribb [7/10] - another excellent ton, though he couldn't follow it up well enough in the second.
BL Wilshere [2/10] - another start and out to Donald... poor game overall.
SE Fuller [5/10] - finding his feet with the bat in the first, but falling away crucially in the second; bowling continues to be solid.
RF Bowen [8/10] - another thoroughly impressive outing; this young man really gives it his all.
RA Williams [2/10] - more brave batting, but possibly underused with the ball... still waiting for the wickets...
JP May-Quinlan [2/10] - taking big wickets, but struggling in between; waiting for consistency.
AAA Collins [3/10] - surprisingly good batting and steady, but unpenetrative bowling.
TJ Demeza [5/10] - much-improved from the Colts game... still lacking rhythm, but that will come soon.

Far out, how could we lose when leading by almost 150?

What happened to our 2nd innings batting? Terrible, looked like a good pitch for batting.

Woeful finishing from us at the moment, & I seem to be getting out at all the wrong times in all the wrong ways.

Let's keep the spirits and activity levels high, we'll certainly be there or thereabouts at the end so we just have to grind out some results.

CW BLUE to play CW Colts (OD)

With Camps back into the team, we can afford to add an extra batsman to the lineup. Unfortunately May-Quinlan makes way despite bowling economically for the most part this season. Goff and Crampton walk back into the lineup, as does DeSilva. Young gets the nod ahead of Mamesh as the second opener. Unlucky Thamba, but there will be many more chances for you.

Bowen gets the pick ahead of Wilshere and will bat at number 8, though he may move up the order as needed. Fuller too may move up ahead of his scheduled spot pending the situation.

Impressive performances by Cribb in recent times get him a spot in the full-strength team, batting one down from where he did in the last game. His legspin will be the only spin in the team, and will hopefully continue to be economical.

RGEWS Cribb
SE Fuller (vc)
A Crampton (wk)
RF Bowen

Good win, Blue. Tidy effort from the bowlers to restrict the oppo to 199, or whatever it was. And a clinical chase.

It's not like there's anyone to take your place though, the bowling averages have been unusually high across the board this season.

I think the best move would be to alter the way I use Demeza, rather than dropping him. Sharp 2-3 over spells at full tilt may be best.

If I don't do anything productive the next game give someone else a chance to shine. I'm sick and tired of going for runs with an apparent lack of penetration.

What's the point of a strike bowler who doesn't take wickets.
