Ok here we go......
The first award up for grabs is the One Day Player of the Season. There were only ever two players who could win this award, Nathan Hoy and newcomer James Stedman. Stedman came in as the hot favourite but Hoy stuck with him the whole way. In the end, Stedman came out on top, after a marvelous season opening the Black batting. Although we won the title, the votes show we relied too heavily on these two players, as together they recieved nearly 80% of the votes.

Next up is the Team Man award. While not everyone took this award seriously, it is a highly valued award, especially in this season where our team was much more active. Right from the start it was a tight contest, with Chaulk, Blackman and Dan Smith leading the way. Blackman led going into the final votes, but Chaulk pulled out an important 3 votes to take the win. Blackman and Chaulk were tied on 15 votes, but due to recieving more 3 pointers, Ash Chaulk is the Team Man of the Season.

Next up is the First Class Player of the Season. This award was a bit of a shock as pre-count favourite Nathan Hoy registered just 2 votes to fall well behind the leaders. With Hoy failing to pick up votes, we had 5 players fighting it out to be named best First Class Player of the Season. Chris Butler recieved many early votes, but mid count surges by Mike Wilson and Simon Fitzsimmons threatened to overtake him. But the departing Butler managed to hang on and take home another medal to remember his time at Blacks.

The final, and biggest award of the night is the overall Player of the Season. Nathan Hoy, Chris Butler and Dave Richards were seen as big fancies going into the night, and they would all be up there by the end of the count. Hoy started off very well, getting out to a huge lead by the halfway mark, but James Stedman and even Alex Blackman were stealing some of his votes. But Chris Butler's run wasn't even close to long enough, as the Hoy juggernaught rolled on. He finished well ahead of the field to record a well-deserved win, after a wonderful season.
