Good looking team tbh and I'm not talking about cricketing ability.
Disagree. I'd only plough Chaulk and Smith on a regular basis. Blackman for a change, but I can't take too much of his nastiness between the sheets. And I'd break Stedman in two, just quietly.

CW Black announce new captain

PICKFORD - Cricket Web Black, the Season 11 double winners, have announced the identity of the man tasked with succeeding Neil Pickup at the Pickford Reserve helm. Pickup, who has skippered the Blacks since their debut in the CWLand Development League, announced mid-season that he would be stepping down from the captaincy, stating that he no longer felt he could do the job justice, and that a fresh impetus would benefit the club.

The man named at today's Press Conference was Pickup's fellow International, fast bowler Nathan Hoy. Hoy has played a key part in the Blacks' recent success and will be supported as vice-captain by young batsman Daniel Smith.

Looking forward to the new challenge of supporting Hoy. Personally I fully support Nath and feel he can do a great job in turning this sinking ship back upright.

Good luck Nath.

I'm honoured to accept the CW Black captaincy on the back of one of our most successful seasons ever. As many know the side has run into some troubles over this off season, with some of our most senior players leaving for other sides. Whilst on the surface it looks a huge blow for the team, it is at the same time a huge opportunity for many of the fresh faces in the black squad to stand up and drive the team forward.

Over the past season discipline has also been a problem, this is one of the main area that I will be looking to change. As everyone knows the CWBCC has a Code of Conduct that all players are to follow and this season I’ll be enforcing this Code of Conduct on the team where i see fit. Below is a reminder of the Code;

The following offences are punishable by the CWBCC:
1. Blatant insults directed at Dev League players, teams or coaching staff.
2. The posting of lewd ***ual material.
3. Persistent baiting of Dev League players or coaching staff.
4. Excessive profanity.
5. Any other action determined by a panel comprised of the CW captains and the CWBCC to be bringing the game into disrepute.
The code is there to provide a good environment for players and it is hoped that ALL team members will abide by it and have a great time.

As my first point of business, CW Black batsman Alex Blackman will be suspended for the first two games of next season for his abuse of former team mate Chris Butler.

Congratulations to Hoy, having played with him in his early days, I know that he's a good guy and I'm sure he'll do well in his position. Congrats also to Smith, I suppose he's not too bad either. ;) But seriously, he's shown maturity and I'm sure he can also do very well.

Congrats Hoy.

Don't agree with the Smith decision though, could've gone for someone a little more experienced.

strange ... can't rememeber Pickup stating he was resigning half way through the season...

Good luck to Nath, and Dan ,.... wishing you both the best for your newly appointed roles! :)

Happy with that decision... just make sure they are active and actually post teams in which im sure they will and it should be a better season
