Pak drew a Test series in WI in 80s.
IND 89-90 side drew a series in PAK .
So , IND 89-90 side would have also drawn a series in WI in 80s by above logic

Aus 2017 had Lyon who is easily better bowler than Warne against IND
This is post facto though. No one looks at Lyon and says he is going to be better against any team anywhere. Lyon didn't face the quality of lineup that Warne faced anyway.

No, for your example to work, you would need to pick a stronger team than 80s Pakistan and then say they can also draw against 80s WI.

Are you forgetting IND scored 759 just 4 months ago against ENG in 2016 ?

Aus 2017 had Lyon who is easily better bowler than Warne against IND and Steve Smith. Eng 2021 didn't have to face Jadeja /Axar in 1st TEST.
We are assuming match is between Full strength IND side and AUS 2004 having no Lyon and Steve Smith
No Lyon or Smith but they have Hayden, Gilly Martyn and Clarke who are all great in those conditions and 2 pacere who average low 20 in the SC against a much stronger India. If Anderson and Southee give that indian lineup issues in India then Gillespie+McGrath would eat them alive.

It wouldn't be easy but 2000s Aus easily favourites

Whatever it takes!!!
Lol @ thinking an Aussie side that needed several Indian players at their lowest to win a series here would beat the current bowling line-up. Even more lol @ saying they did not face strong opposition. Circular stupid **** reasoning to confirm dumb-ass bias without watching any actual cricket as usual.

Laxman, Sehwag and Dravid were in their career peaks in that period. Just because the Aussie pace attack strangled them for runs in that series doesnt mean they were in poor form. You are the one using cricular reasoning.

2 of those are lefties against Ashwin, and this is also conveniently missing that India has an actual pace attack that averages in the 20s as well when every other pace attack (including Anderson's and Southee's) has remained above 30 in a pace bowling friendly era overall.

Those Aussies will get wrestled down 2-1 and Ashwin will give each and everyone an ethical sendoff.

They would simply hit Ashwin back over his head.

Hayden averages 30 against peak Kumble + Harbhajan. (Check his 2004 and 2008).
Gilchrist average 27 against IND. But somehow they will win series on their own against IND

IND would send entire 2004 team into collective retirement after back to back series victory in 2003/04 and 2004
