Tuffy is a fair tail ender I agreeMingster said:Tuffey is not a 'bunny'.
He's got a good technique and I would rate him near Bichel.

Sorry if you took me wrong I said at the start of the thread that best late orders not the tail enders then the discussion diverted over there .. I agree for One day may be Kiwis are even better . But I also wrote that Moin Razzaq Shoaib Malik and Azhar Mahmood at no:9 . So I think Late order is pretty good for Pakistan . Newzealanders have Oram , Who has all the qualities to be a great cricketer . You know what Discuss any thing but please why did you say Bloody Biast thing ,I have nothing against you at all.......Mingster said:FRAZ, if you are talking about Tests, you are so wrong it isn't funny at all.
Just like what Andre pointed out:
Regarding the tails - let's look at Pakistan against NZ.
Sami
Akhtar
Ahmed
Kaneria.
Very strong
Sami at 8 is pretty bad.
If you are talking about ODIs, New Zealand have the best tail in the last game with Mills at 10. That's bloody strong for a guy who averages over 41 in first class cricket.
What do you call lower order then?FRAZ said:Sorry if you took me wrong I said at the start of the thread that best late orders not the tail enders then the discussion diverted over there .. No 1,2 3 are called top order , 4,5,6 are middle order. at 7 the specialist batsmen are over then become late order and probably 9, 10 , 11 are true tail enders . Look at the heading of the thread , it is best late order . Pakistan has the worst top and middle order may be , totally inconsistent , and how many times we have seen even in the recen seris in the tests Moin khan saved the test and in one dayers Razzaq , Moin , Azhar doing the recovery and also dont forget Shoaib malik he is a very good hitter . And this ranking is also on consistancy wise , because Pakistani top and middle order has'nt floped once twice or thrice but almost in every other match they do . If you look at the averages of Pakistani late order , Its quite nice for being coming at 7,8 .. That was my point . I guess you got it now ....Mingster said:What do you call lower order then?
7 or 8 or what?
Because you can have tailenders as high as 8 and they arent just what you make them out to be.
Shows why Fraz's depth perception is f*cked.Andre said:Gentlemen, you can never see the full picture if one eye is closed.
That's all I am going to say.
You what?FRAZ said:These two guys no doubt won many matches with their bowling but I feel they also lost many matches with a little margin of under 10 some times cuz I guess their tail enders were never seem like doing any thing ....
Can I suggest you remove the NZ-tinted spectacles and try again?Mingster said:Tuffey is not a 'bunny'.

To be fair, he's not the only one who's not looking at the whole picture in this thread...furious_ged said:Shows why Fraz's depth perception is f*cked.
Mate, you're so far off it's not funny.
I'd have to place South Africa's above New Zealand. This especially when they get it right selection-wise.hourn said:I'd rate New Zealand's and South Africa's as the two best. both about as good as each other.
a bit of a distance to Australia and Zimbabwe.
After that there is a big gap and the rest could be any order you wanted.
now I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong - but didn't Boje's 2 ODI tons come as Opener v NZ on that ill fated tour by NZ several years ago???????iamdavid said:South Africa-
Boje (likewise , 2 ODI hundreds to his name , great striker of the ball)
May I also suggest you look at his batting before you judge people eh?marc71178 said:Can I suggest you remove the NZ-tinted spectacles and try again?
Boje was amazing on that tour, he would have hit runs against anyone.. Sadly he hasnt matched that since... Hes still a very reliable batsman with a good technique, one of the strongest lower order batsmen around...anzac said:now I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong - but didn't Boje's 2 ODI tons come as Opener v NZ on that ill fated tour by NZ several years ago???????
If so then he was facing Tuffey on his 2nd series & 1st Tour, O'Connor as senior bowler, B Walker, Styris, C Martin & Allott - from memory Tuffey, Walker, Martin & Allott totaled single figures for Tests played between them!!!
He'd have to have performed against strong bowling attacks since then as those tons are fairly misleading.............

Add to this the List A ODI stats:Neil Pickup said:The point was that while Tuffey (FC Average 13.80, 3x50, HS 89*) is not a bunny, he's certainly not up to the standards of Bichel (Ave 20.97, 11x50, 1x100, HS 110).
Given those stats, it's not really rocket science either (Bichel has played 2.2x more inns, and has 4x as many 50+ scores).

Well many people have used this irritating argument in a serious context, (Haydens 380 being an example)Neil Pickup said:Note the :saint: at the end of the post
