I love how Redpath made the first team he entered. I think this R team would be great to watch.

Yeah I'll take this team on..

Norman O'Neill- been campaigning for his selection for an eternity now, superb player.
Hashim Amla- I think he is a magnificent player, one of my favourites to watch.
Tom Graveney- about time he gets a gig.

Gerry Alexander- gentleman and excellent at both his trades.

Bill Voce- left-arm partner of the great Larwood.
Ernie Toshack- left-armer of extremely high quality.
Zaheer Khan- to round out my trio of lefties, Zaheer adds guile and reverse swing to the team.

May I request Colin Miller be added to a shortlist, after Fred mentioned him in another thread?

Pretty good Test record, TBF.

I won't however be nominating Geoff Miller when we get to the spinner's slot in this side
Never understood the derision Miller gets as a player. In the almost 30 years between Underwood and Swann, no English spinner had a better average than Miller. And he averaged mid 20's with the bat. On numbers alone he was pretty unlucky not to have played more tests, particularly since the England side at the time tended to have Botham at 6 and a keeper who wasn't much good at batting (eg Taylor, Downton), which meant another bowler who could do a job at no. 7 really fitted the bill.

He was a decent county pro but was no great shakes at international level. In looking at his bowling, supposedly his stronger suit, if you disregard his one good series (against the WSC-ravaged Australia of 1978/79) then his average slips to a rather less attractive 40
