There's a decent chunk of CW who would have Davidson in their ATG Australia XI over Lillee/Lindwall.

He's left handed and a decent bat, but it's still a big feather in his hat.

I'd say he's as worthy as Bond in that XI

50 is far too many for pacers. They don't play as much and in previous eras 50 was quite a healthy career.

I nominate Cowie, Larwood and Barnes.

Miller and Worrell had fairly long and illustrious careers. Both played just over 50 tests. The 3 Ws played for about a decade.

Trueman had an incredibly long career. He maintained his stats over such a long stretch. Incredible. Pretty bizarre to think he missed out on quite a few tests because of politics so he should've played even more than the admirable 64 he managed. Also kind of weird that Rhodes played for over 3 decades, yet he was overshadowed in his prime by none other than SF Barnes.

Was looking at Trueman's stats the other day; who is the record holder for FC wickets? It's gotta be a hell of a lot (Trueman has over 2000)

Freeman took 250+ wickets in each season from 1928 to 1933, including 1122 wickets across the first 4. Tom Richardson had previously taken 1005 wickets in 1894-97, which is perhaps even more remarkable as he was a fast bowler. (This may over-exerted him - he didn't have a great Ashes series in 1897-8, nor was he the same bowler in county cricket after that).

Apparently so - though this is for the last four of those six seasons: "Yet, between 1930 and 1933 Kent were so dependent upon Freeman for bowling that he took 951 County Championship wickets - over 55 percent of Kent's total - for only 15.21 runs each" says Wikipedia.

(Admittedly Championship wickets isn't all the wickets Kent took, but I doubt the overall figure would be much different).
