The Art of Cricket

You may have seen this before. An Australian guy got fed up with the cricket games on offer so decided to scrap his plan for world domination and create his own title. This is it, and I must say it's looking tops.

I run the website for him, TheArtofCricket.net. We've had a big press release today, announcing the official title. We had previously been codenamed The Cricket Project.

It should be released in mid 2007, a long way to go yet. Don't expect to see fielders or little details in it yet, we are very much a work in progress and are concentrating on the core gameplay over little graphics, which is what us gamers have wanted for ages.

As you can see from the screenshot below, it's looking good!

Watched some of the videos, it looks very nice so far. Keep it up.

Will the game be free?

That's to be decided. At the moment it looks like it will be free to download, but if you can't do that for some reason then you can ask for a PC CD-ROM to be sent to you for no more than the cost of the postage.

Recently, The Art of Cricket has had it's player models remade so they look better and play more fluently. Here's some previews:

No updates on the web site since April so doesnt look too promising just yet.

But it certainly has a good look in terms of graphics.
