did fairly well in the 2 full series he played vs them:Don't think SRT has such a great record against both (mean both McGrath and Warne were playing) either.. Suppose he had very few games as well. A statsguru search might be interesting.
well, I'm not so sure. Dravid struggled like hell in Aus vs McWarne in the 99 series ....As an anomally given his far from stellar record against India, Warne got Dravid quite a few times. Yet based on how he plays i would pick david over Sehwag for this exercise.
You have limited the search to away games.. Given overall, Kallis only averages 40 against McWarne..Here.
Tendulkar was actually good against them IN Australia. Only 3 matches though.
I like Howzat's list. The batsman that worried me, even against McWarne, the most during our era of dominance was easily Lara. Just by himself he could contain and attack them, to give his team a chance.
I rated Ijaz. And more importantly, so did the Australian team at that time. From memory, Ijaz Ahmed did alright against Australia in the 90s.
It's meant to be played here as well.I don't think I can find a spot for Flintoff in my team. There were better pure batsman and pure bowlers against Oz and Flintoff wasn't exactly great when he played in Australia either.
Yes, the Tests are at Brisbane/Adelaide/Perth/Melbourne/Sydney.I did that because the thread starter stipulated that the games be played in Australia.
EDIT: Er wait, did Spark mean at home in Australia or at the home of the batsman? Also, whilst the thread says anti-McWarne in the post he refers to the attack in general from 96 to 07.
Because people like to make **** up about Kallis to avoid accepting how good he is.Surprised to see Kallis averages 53+ in 16 innings in Australia against McWarne. Why has he reputation of having poor record against the best bowlers?
Dunno why it is, but he's toured here however often, and I've never been worried he was going to take a game away from us.Because people like to make **** up about Kallis to avoid accepting how good he is.
like dravid.Dunno why it is, but he's toured here however often, and I've never been worried he was going to take a game away from us.
I suspect it's his style - just goes about his business without much fuss. Kind of player who creeps up on you and you realise only when it's drawn to your attention how good he's been for SA.
