The Allan Border Medal

Mr Casson

Symonds didn't deserve to win it! What's he done in the last few months?

Oh Warney, Warney, Warney... did he want to hear that?

With Marto polling so lowly in the one-dayers, is he still such a clear-cut favourite for the medal?

I reckon Kaspa could be a dark horse for the AB Medal... He polled extremely well in the OD's and he went ok in the tests.. 8-9 points could do it for him i reckon...

Cosgrove the Young Cricketer..... Thats one very interesting one.... Considering he was dropped just the other day...

i found it rather amusing how bichel won the state player of the year award, as voted by the contracted players. he could've had the worst year ever, the aussie team love bichel that much he still woulda won it.

i didnt know that darren lehmann could win the young cricketer of the year award?? but seriously, on what basis do they hand that out on? surely ferguson would have to be ahead of him if looking at this year's results. and once again, living in tasmania harms someone elses chances (doherty)

Bichel took over 80 wickets and averaged 22 with the bat so thats how he won. Mark Cosgrove won young cricketer of the year award, Darren Lehman has never won it, he has won the the state ODI player of the year many times.

Well not only does the players votes count in the allan border medal but the umpires and the media's votes counts as well. And luckily for Clarke the media loves him more than martin.

Whatever the media writes about the players personalities etc., the votes were counted on performances; it isn't a popularity contest.

The media and umpires vote, clarke got 28 votes and martin got 25 votes from the umpires/media.

And no its not a popularity contest but the way the media looks at things these days, clarke was always got to get alot of votes from, such as the match where he got the 6 wickets and didn't exactly bat well. He never got a vote from the players for that but he did from the media.

So what if he didn't bat well? He bowled well!

Bad pitch or not, 6/9 is good bowling.
