Atkinson has bowled 90mph in t20/the hundred but at test level, he'll probably have to drop his pace for longevity. Losing some mph for consistency and accuracy is fine. He's had a great year and we'll have to see whether 2025 is his cricketing equivalent of that 'difficult second album'.

Sometimes the less fancy guys go on to be the best.

Anderson probably isn't the most talented bowler to debut for England but he was world class while other guys didn't harness their talents.

Atkinson doing similar so far.

He started the West Indies series well up there in pace tbf, and dropping a few kph did Anderson no harm whatsoever!
