Was there a reason 30-34 batting category wasn't 34 and under like the over 31 bowling category?
It's annoying players like Mahanama and various Zimbabwe batsmen are basically off the table (other than the "other" pick I guess)

Wanted even spreads in terms of averages and numbers (judged that by first page of Statsguru - most fields had bottom of page 1 with caps in the 40s range. ) Gave a bit more licence for lowest average because 30 is a nice round number lol and also thought its better if there are few too many then too few options as the quality of options in that 30-35 pool was always likely to be lower.
The bowling with only 4 categories leant itself to more options at the top end too I guess. Plenty of spinners in the high 30 bowling range influenced by bowling conditions - in hindsight maybe might have considered widening each batting average category by 1 although think its also led to an interesting dilemma with some drafters looking to get 2 bottom 4 Test nation picks out the way immediately and others delaying things a bit more and making the most of the ATGs still on offer later in a draft than usual.
