Ten reasons why England will be world number one!

Haha, after seeing Pakistan in the most recent 2 tests, the win over Australia is just such an anomaly. I still think it may never have happened and this was all a dream.

I am not so sure about this. Remember half our matches are in England where 45 is a superb average. We dont have the flat tracks to inflat the averages. Sure it would make it easier but 6 batmen averaging 45 would be more than enough with a keeper averaging 40 and 8/9 averaging 25. Thats average totals of 360+. More than enough to win every Test if our bowlers average sub 30.
English pitches are actually pretty flat. What you have is atmospheric conditions.

They have a win % of 13 in ODIs too in recent times if whatever rankings comes on Ten Sports is to be trusted.

Despite poaching players from everywhere else, the fact remains they all still play under the England emblem.

Which means it will happen the day Hell freezes over.

England number one? Haha, such a **** last few days I've had, finally something to laugh about.

Batsmen too.

Can't see in this age a no.1 team dominating without a single batsman having a 50+ avg (ok min. innings criteria etc)
Well current averages suggest the strongest England batting line-up for a very long time, if not close to best averages ever with the # 7-9 averaging 96.....

Morgan 57.00
Trott 50.11
Pietersen 48.96
Collingwood 43.57
Strauss 43.45
Cook 43.20
Prior 42.14
Swann 28.86
Broad 24.94

Yep, it is perhaps the strongest english batting lineup, but it is still behind SL, Ind, SA and arguably behind Aus as well as far as batting prowess is concerned.
