Well he won't be sniping against them with the just-revealed comment about the Nagpur game in 2004/05 - the book was written (in entirity) before Harbhajan's comments about Gilchrist being no saint. Those were made just a week or so ago, and the book wasn't written in stages, just these quotes are seeping out in stages.

No, I don't think the book was completed before Mar 7 2008. That's when Harby's comments were made.

Seriously it is coming down to a point where someone should tell Gilchrist to shut the **** up, because its getting kind of annoying to hear all this crap from him after every two or three days, the way he is talking its seems as if he has a problem with almost everyone he played with or against.

Eh, he's entitlted to his opinion regarding Murali (and no surprise that there were complaints in the Australian pavilion about Murali), but I think insinuations that Ganguly intentionally missed the 3rd test of the 2004 series because of the pitch and 'fearing a series loss' makes very little sense considering Ganguly also didn't return for the 4th test in Mumbai... unless of course he's also suggesting that after the series was lost, Ganguly also didn't want to play.

It's in his boom pup, as far as I know he's not coming out with these statements on a daily basis, just different extracts being released at different points

Haha yeah, whilst its annoying that we're having stories about Gilly every few days, its not like he's coming out to the media and saying it.

But Jesus Christ, Gilly's book is being whored out like no other I've ever seen.

Yeah I'm so annoyed with all of this. We should just have a Gilchrist section and post all these new excerpts in them [preferably in order, so we don't have to buy the book].

I loved the guy when he batted for Australia and like listening to his views on TV, but he really comes across as a bit of a **** with this book.

Every major autobio that gets released over here comes out like this, with the serialisation rights normally sold to one of the tabloids. I think Brumby said that they often make more through those deals than they do through sales.
