For free managment advice, call 1800-SOCIAL. Yes that's right, 1800-568 485, or 1800-SOCIAL, call now!
BHP employs 12,000 people in Oz (oh, that's right, used to employ) and have just sacked 6,000

I'm a director of a company that employs 4,000, and not only hasnt had to sack anyone but will have another 1,500 by the end of the year

So, feel free to call :laugh:

In the WI, they singled himout and treated him like a kid (on the bus 5 minutes before it leaves and all that nonense) - it didnt work

In Darwin, they totally overreacted and threw him out - it may not have worked

In essence, they've tried the two extremes of the spectrum and there are plent of measures that lie in between
I'm impressed you're aware of all the attempts at intervention that Cricket Australia as his employer, Buchanan and Neilsen as his coaches, Ponting as his captain, and guys like Hayden and Clarke as his good friends have tried. Would have imagined a lot of that stuff would have been kept in house in a professional manner.

It's just that, for a moment there, it sounded like you were basing your assessment that all of these people are fools solely on what had made it onto the front/back pages of the tabloid press.

Don't know why CA hasn't offered you a job already.

Well I'm intrigued. Do tell - what brilliant staff-management technique would you have used to straighten him out?

Still waiting for a non-evasive, specific, answer to my question tbh.

Otherwise, you just sound like every other armchair expect who reckons he could do other people's job better based on what he sees of it on telly and reads in the Herald-Sun...

Professional sportsmen are motivated by the game and money

Where were the suspensions for a game or fines?

Answer: Nowhere

Name the players that:

a. Took drugs;

b. Gambled on the game;

c. Hit team-mates

Hint; None of the are Symonds
Heh, as much as I dislike Symonds this is spot on. Although trying to compare the PCB to CA in any way, shape or form is a bit much for mine(wrt the associated disciplinary actions).

You mean Warne? :ph34r:

Symonds has been involved in so many brawls, so many controversies and so many unprofessional conduct that he can be undoubtedly be called as the Biggest Tool. All others are one time offenders excluding perhaps Asif and Akthar.

They suspended him in 2005 when he turned up in an unfit state - and they suspended him after the 'gone fishing' episode.

Given how much money he's making from his various endorsements, any fine that would be enforceable by CA upon him would be water off a duck's bat for Symonds. That said, are you certain he hasn't been fined in the past?

Given how quickly he was shuffled back into the team for the NZ series, his being "dropped" for the Indian tour was basically a suspension as well.

Shows your bias when you compare him unfavourably to those 2 cheats

He was not dropped for India - he was suspended. It was made clear that him not being named in the team was not a cricket-based decision, he was being temporarily barred from being in the team while he sorted through his issues.

And then having spent half an hour on the couch - HALLELUJAH IT'S A MIRACLE!

Not that 2-0 had anything to do with it, of course8-)
