Symonds: Gawn?

Accused being the key word. People get suspended and benched all the time in American sports for missing practices/meetings.

What a ****in joke!

Let's get some perspective, people!
Tbf, i don't think anyone's gone over the top about what Symonds has done here. But they have team rules about drinking for a reason. And what's the point in having them if you're going to let people get away with breaking them repeatedly?

Exactly. If Symonds was merely "accused" and not exonerated then it would be a different story. Also, Bryant has not had repeated off the court incidents like Symonds.

Norwood's on Fire
The saddest thing about this is that nobody is surprised. He's going down the Gazza route

Good, the guy doesn't deserve to represent his country, despite his talent, simple as that. He's had more than enough chances to redeem himself but clearly his priority is to fish & get pissed, so good riddance.

Just because nothing was ever proved against Bryant and he got off, means that we shouldn't punish Symonds according. I can't believe you still defend Symonds after the countless numbers of incidents he has been involved in.

Haha, have a look at the 'see also' section on the right and read downwards. Nice to see Freddie gets a mention as well.
Haha, noticed that as well.

Fair bit of media coverage  Think they've left out a bit too.

Bloke is an addict, clearly. Needs to get on a 12 step program pronto. Admitting he's got a problem is the first.

West Bromich Dartmouth. I played against him last week. Devon CCC vs Warwickshire CCC in a T20.
"DEVON have drafted in an virtual unknown from New Zealand to strengthen their side for tomorrow's Twenty20 Challenge match against Warwickshire Bears at Exmouth (5pm).

The name James Neesham doesn't mean much outside Auckland, where he plays for Suburbs New Lynn and has recently broken into the New Zealand U19 side.

Neesham is over in the UK this summer improving his game playing in the Birmingham Premier League for West Bromwich Dartmouth, for whom he scored a maiden century on Saturday in the defeat by Smethwick.

With Devon a bit thin on batting firepower for the game, a friend of a friend recommended they borrow Neesham, who will be travelling down from Birmingham tomorrow morning for the match. "

"DEVON went down by 31 runs to Warwickshire at Exmouth in a Twenty20 challenge match that seldom reached any great heights.

Devon's bowling and fielding was out of the top drawer to limit Warwickshire to 168 for eight – Trevor Anning, James Neesham and Neil Hancock all keeping the score down with tidy spells. There was a distinct lack of the crash-bang-wallop cricket these games are supposed be about.

It was a gettable total for Devon, but they never got nearer it after dipping to 19 for three in reply with quick-scoring dangerman Hancock in and out for four.

Lewis Gregory had his leg-stump removed second ball, Sandy Allen was caught at full stretch by a diving Tony Frost and Hancock hit out and got out to a catch at deep mid-on.

Farhaan Behardien and James Neesham – two overseas guests helping Devon strengthen the side – played some cracking shots to give a surprisingly sparse crowd something to clap about.

But with both out in a running total of 81 for six with eight overs to go – and David Lye bowled sweeping Black Caps spinner Jeetan Patel for 15 - any meaningful prospect of a run chase was over. "

Anybody who couldn't see that, since he signed that IPL contract, he was emboldened, is blind or an idiot.

He knew he had that to fall back on, and that's why he refused to mend his ways.

Anyway, he was a grossly overrated Test player (one 50 from his last 11 knocks) and because of the disruption he causes, he won't on balance be missed.
