Sweetest Cover-Drives

Shane Watson always used to get a couple of beauties away before the one that rapped him on the pads plumb in front.
Yeah Watto's cover drives were awesome. His lbw issues were basically a byproduct of setting himself up technically to nail it through cover every ball.

Cricketer Of The Year
You remember a handful of shots over the years that stand out. Kim Hughes straight driving Underwood who reflexively bent to stop the ball that was already at the boundary. Another one I remember was the best cover drive I've seen and hit by Gundappa Viswanath off Thommo at Brisbane in the 77/78 series.

Zak Crawley drives quite beautifully too, it's just every other aspect of his batting that's scratchy.

I don't really believe in left-handed cover drives, unless they're off left arm bowlers. Totally different shot IMO, or as I like to say, "myth."

I also think Martyn is disqualified for not actually having a front foot.

Babar, Bell, Watson, Vaughan, MWaugh all good shouts so far.

Daren Ganga for a wildcard entry. Only shot he really had, but it was beautiful.
