M Clarke CBF b Franklin 49 (46)
Seriously the weirdest dismissal I've ever seen.
Yeah you can sort of see how it happened, he just totally lost it for a second and misjudged the delivery, but it's still really weird to see in an international game. Was playing a blinder too.Just lost concentration really.
Was just about to post a link to my comment the other day about how he's the #4 ODI batsman in the world in my eyes, and bang, he goes and does that...Just lost concentration really.
Its the constant sound of horns and trumpets and what not. It just adds something to the game that can't be explained. The game tonight has had more of a "World Cup atmosphere" for mine, at least early on. The early period with Gilchrist getting out and then Ponting and Hayden batting was quite excited, and the crowd seemed really into it, despite being pretty sparse. The music certainly adds something, too.
It was all a plan to get Symonds some batting practice...I think the moment ball pitched on the pitch Clarke probably had a blackout on the top-floor.
What makes it even stranger is that it was hardly a time to be leaving balls. I think he must have been thinking about his 50, got overcautious and abandoned his natural game.Yeah you can sort of see how it happened, he just totally lost it for a second and misjudged the delivery, but it's still really weird to see in an international game. Was playing a blinder too.
They tend to go pretty quickly off both these players bats regardless of conditionNew ball been taken, lets see how well this comes off the bat.
