An early nomination for worst game of the year - Hurricanes vs. Cats.

Some thoughts -

I am actually slightly concerned about how poorly we are playing. We got absolutely dominated up front just like last week.

The Cats lineout was amazing, very impressive. They deserved at least a bonus point out of the game and probably would have got 4 points if they had some decent backs.

Ma'a Nonu won't get close to an All Blacks jersey if he keeps his current form up. He still has **** for hands in 2006 and from the evidence on field, hasn't taken the time to clean up his tackling technique.

Jason Eaton was impressive as usual, looks to be the real deal at this stage.

Toeava can join Nonu in the '**** for hands' category. Lets hope he improves over time, or is still just nervous, because from what I have seen he wouldn't look out of place in the 2005 Warriors with the catching and ball security technique he has shown thus far. Still, he looks a brilliant runner.

Blues should get back on track, but I think they were slightly overrated at the beginning of the season.

Even without Mehrtens & Marshall, The Crusaders still look like the team to beat.

The bits I saw of the Hurricanes v Cats match were truly terrible. Mistakes, cheap shots and general scrappiness all round. I was almost glad to be forced to watch that medium programme with Jennifer Love Hewitt instead (although that had some obvious benefits).
