Turkey may have come 3rd, but to be honest they didn't really do that well in the tournament.
Loss to Brazil, Draw with Costa Rica, Beating China, Japan and Senegal, before losing to Brazil again.
In my mind there they only really played one side of quality, and lost to them (twice).
The problem game in Euro 2004 qualifying is the trip to Istanbul, with the fact UEFA literally let the Turkish clubs get away with murder, but that's the last game, and if Sven stays in charge, we should have qualified before that game - starting off with Slovakia away, Macedonia home and Liechtenstein away (even Heskey might get a goal against them!) should put us in good form to take on the Turks at home (probably Old Trafford I'd guess for that one)
Then reverse the fixtures, and if we shuould have at least 5 wins from the first 7 games, which would make qualifying all but certain.
