 I got my shirt signed by him , and Katich , Angel , Hussey , Williams & Hogg.

Wasnt that special back in 1999 , but now that Marto & Hoggy are both back in the team , Williams is playing tests , Angel is WA's alltime leading wicket taker(I think) & Hussey plays for Australia A.
It would probably go for a little more on Ebay:lol:

Boycott played 108 times for England - and they lost just 20 of those.

Career Average 47.72
Average when England won 54.62 (35 games)
Average when England drew 52.83 (53 games)
Average when England lost 28.10 (20 games)

Boycott never scored a ton in games England lost. If he failed, the team did.
That stuff is absolutely remarkable.
I guess it's to be expected from most players that that sort of pattern will ensue, but for it to be that pronounced is quite incredible.

Aravinda for me, no question.
But it's been said so many times - no-one can ever be anything close to definitive because style is so subjective.
Also, quite agree with eddie that david was rather hasty in his construction of the poll - first thought that struck me (before I'd even opened the thread) was "all-time - hmm, should be interesting..."
Style can only ever be quantified if you've seen someone anyway. They said Trumper was stylish, they said Ranjitsinhji was stylish... no-one's ever seen them, or if they have they're about 120 and probably don't remember much:D . It's only possible to contrive a thread "most stylish player you've ever seen" and because there will be such a range a poll's not exactly fair, either.
Equally, for me there are so many stylish players around it's not really possible to contrive between them. I only say Aravinda because he was the first I ever saw of my favourite lot while taking serious notice and because the strokes are what I enjoy most (I don't really like seeing off-stump balls knocked through mid-wicket, but Mark Waugh sure made it look good when he did it).

Damien Martyn is by far the most graceful, effortless and elegant batsman I have ever scene, and that includes Mark Waugh. He so often gets lost amongst the brute power of the Australian team, but a D Martyn cover drive - no one has and ever will hit a more gorgeous stroke.
