Stumped!

GG CC finishes on 258/7. Cornelius Human with an unbeaten 80 (79), supported by a bunch of 20s. I felt that at one stage the total would be around 270, but it's runs on the board.

Not really green, 8 XP. I guess his accuracy is hurting him.

Very good innings from C. Human all the same, aren't you glad you bought him back ;)
I have looked up Shanuka's profile and saw that he's an excellent batsman. So I am interested to see how well he paces his innings in this run chase.

Putting C. Human on the market was more about seeing how much he can be bought for...it turns out he was sold for a meager price...

Seeing him in the market a few weeks later was interesting. I made a bid and won.

Yeah, he played a good knock here...but his quick running caused the downfalll of de Villiers and Sutherland...both looked good.

Since I have taken over affiliate duties for GG CC, this is the first time that I’ve given Bram Human the ball to bowl and what a performance it was. He was expensive, yeah, but breaking a crucial partnership along the way to grabbing a hat trick was the icing on the cake.

He was probably buoyed seeing his brother Cornelius played a vital knock with the bat and thought to himself that today way good day for Humanity.

Earlier I failed to mention Santhiapillai’s 39. He was involved in a 73 run partnership with Cornelius; it was also the highest partnership of the match.

@Magrat Garlick I will be keeping a close eye on Loey from now on. The guy is a talent and hits boundaries quite frequently. I see him being a Babar Alam type of player.

Thanks for the game ?

Going well for Magrat Garlick's Dynamo Morpork - 270/4 with 3 overs to go in a DEV friendly. Sabir Rizwan my spinner having a bit of a shocker with 8 overs for 77 in a game that was pretty even on paper - Dynamo Morpork with a narrow advantage. Relatively new signing 18-year-old Muchaneta Gwacela has escaped the full brunt of the carnage with 3-40 from his 7 overs so far for us.

A superb opening stand of 190 has powered the Dynamo Morpork innings so far - 79 off 74 for Phillip Hughes and 101 from 92 for Menno Fouche powered their side to 190-0 in the 27th over. 4 wickets in 14 balls stemmed the barrage ever so slightly hauling score back to 198-4 after 29 overs. However, Uys Goliath (30 off 24) and Martijn Van Heerdens (37 off 30) has ensured that there will be no late fightback for us.

How did I win that DEV friendly so comprehensively? Huge ratings differential and the only reason they were as close as they were is because of fielding…
At Dev XI results are less predictable. The players don't perform as consistently due to low experience. Fielding is a huge factor too.

CWC3 starts tomorrow! Hype.

FHK vs Schmaltzberg and GG CC vs ataraXIa could be the most competitive games IMO. ZCC, Morpork, Jura CC and Winton CC the favorites in their game, but upsets are very possible in Dev cricket!

As is the case with other tournaments, can we have a “players to look out for” list?

Something like the under-19 World Cup where unknowns are known…and those whom the microscope has been on since they first played their first youth game.

A quick XI of players expected to perform well: Ernst Levy (GG), Agnes Chow (FHK), Danial Ahsan (ZCC), Deendayal Umesh (Jura), Kurt Murdoch (aXIa), Menno Fouche (DyMo), Peter Sutherland (GG), Martijn van Heerdens (DyMo), Lai O Yin (FHK), Muchafara Ndlovu (DyS), Taufeeq Bashir (ZCC)

Thanks for this match, as expected 296 was way too much to chase in a DEV game but your boys gave it a good go! That Hughes/Fouche opening combo might feature more in the CWC3
