Stumped!

It was a decidedly average pitch really -- not quite green enough to unleash my plethora of 130kph, 33 skill merchants -- so it does reveal a weakness in this side lol. Whether Michael Winton is quality enough as an AR is still up for discussion. Yours was definitely the better side with both bat and ball - well played.

The affiliates' T20 encounter was even further one-sided. Finally, 1 year and 3 days after AX-W's creation, comes the first breach of 50K (meanwhile, AXI have slipped from a brief 60K peak back down to 57.5K, shows how lucky we got touchwise that season!). And boy did O'Callaghan and Picton celebrate it! Consolidations to TNT.

Oh and, Nick Smith scored 62 (22) for NZ, including three consecutive sixes from his 2nd to 4th balls, the other day. Trying to force his way into a silly good T20 batting lineup over there. Scored the winning run out too - all going his way atm.

TNT are far away from a competitive side, unfortunately. Need probably two more seasons. Full of potential though!

The Winton CC - Charminster CC tie was an exhibition of bowling attacks being on top. A 73 run opening stand for Winton proved pivotal as Jacob West made 52 off 61. However, Winton proceeded to collapse to 159 all out. In response, our number 6 Tom Doyle made 39 and number 7 Fergie Leary made 32 - no one else made more than 4 as Charminster CC were bowled out for 83. Other results means that win seals Winton CC's qualification and virtually guarantees Charminster CC's exit

If my counting isn't off league competition would be set to complete on Saturday 3rd December. Would be great to have semi-finals during the following midweek and then final on Saturday 10th December.

Season 33 on Stumped would then resume on Monday 12th December. Could come up with a plan for CWC7 prior to Christmas and have ebtries open until the New Year. Not sure how many celebrate but my Christmas holidays are not super eventful so would be fine for a quicker turnaround if that was desired too
Just quoting this for a heads up - planning to have the semi-finals midweek after next - 7th December perhaps but happy for 6th-8th December shall we say and than the final on Saturday 10th December.

All positions still open to fight for - but will try and tag people for games that need to be aranged as and when any ties are confirmed.

FHK taking on AXI and ZCC in simultaneous T20s tomorrow morning. Two separate XIs have been announced - a slightly stronger one for AXI naturally. Excited to see how this unfolds.

Picton followed up his 78* (37) with 82 (38), but even 271 wasn't enough to secure a win, with an incredible Mandhatri knock leaving GG to win with three and a half overs to spare. In a current SOD friendly after that CWC game, 220 therefore doesn't leave me with much confidence!

Also lol at Davidson-Levy twin centuries opening the batting against Schmaltzberg - one bowler went for 141, geez

Just opened with them and made them quite aggressive… bit of a hit or miss. Get them out and the rest of team likely to crumble.

It's Do Or Die for ZCC in final week of Season 32!

The historic club face relegation to Division 3 for the first time since their inaugural season!

------------

It's do or die for ZCC in the final week of league matches across all formats.

While they are currently ranked in 3rd place in EurAfrica SOD 2.1, only 3 points separate them from Leggs Eleven in 6th place, with both sides on 6 wins each so far! ZCC's final match is against Wallsend Slipway who, despite their 8th rank, have still managed to win 5 games this season.

In EurAfrica T20 2.3, ZCC are currently in 4th place, but with a cushion of 5 points between them and the relegation zone. The Night Watchmen currently occupy 6th place and are also ZCC's final match - failure to take a point out of this game put ZCC at risk of slipping down.

And finally in EurAfrica Dev 2.2, ZCC's relegation to Div 3 has been confirmed, with an meagre 2 points from their 13 games so far. This has been ZCC's worst ever season of Dev cricket, which raises questions over the management's progression planning and talent identification systems.

ZCC have not played in Division 3 in any format since Season 1, where they won promotion to Division 2 across all formats. They been a mainstay in Division 2 since the mergers of the European and South African leagues. The relegation of the Dev side to Division 3 has already been a cause for concern and the club, so for either of the Senior teams to drop down as well would no down provoke some hard questions of the management.

Great win for BD today :toot: Andy Li with 3 wickets and Nathan Law hitting the winning runs on debut!

Great day for FHK overall. Absolutely anihilated ZCC in the 2nd T20 between the sides.

Law did well! Actually a good fit for T20s I reckon.

Shum and Yau are both probably never playing for BD again. Chung will return for the ODIs. I expect Li to still be around for a while as our spin all-rounder.

I reckon Lester could nab a few games late career as an excellent economical 5th bowler on dry pitches - if Zakir Adeel will be indeed the real... deal. Agreed on the rest, but might be tough for Law to get games.

Only see Law as a T20I specialist atm.

Do hope we get some Friendly ODIs before the ODI WC next season. Would love an opportunity to test out the next gen for that format and figure out a combination before the tournament gets underway.

So the secret to stumped is be as aggressive as possible... I have also noted that the only way to get the most out of an out of touch player is just push aggression to max. I am going to call this the Roelof van der Merwe strategy from now on...

Oh and #BQdoesNotMatter...
