Stokes vs Perera vs Lara Ranking

At least Leach is a decent bat...

Lara had Walsh with him to take him home.

Those Walsh leaves were legendary and needs to be in every coaching manual.
Not trying to knock Lara's innings, but when Walsh came in to bat they only needed 6 more runs, compared to 70+ for the other two. He added 54 with Ambrose (who scored 12).

Yeah but at one point wi were 105 for 5. And at 248 for 8.

Lara for me, iirc that pitch he was batting on was full of mischief. By comparison, Stokes' innings was played on a highway and even Perera had the advantage of batting on a surface that wasn't offering a whole lot at that stage besides good bounce and a bit of movement.

Batting with Walsh with 6 runs to get...those 6 runs are like 100.

Man, everytime I watch the video on YouTube...tense all the time. And the crowd at the Kensington Oval. Too much man.

The series situation in Stokes's case should be considered if we're taking the pressure into account. Probably even in Lara and Stokes's case and a little less for Kusal with the underdog factor.

Anyway, these are intangibles and they're all ATG knocks. Shame that Perera's knock will inevitably garner much, much less attention and praise than the other two.
We may look back on Kusal's knock as the moment SL cricket finally got back on the horse but alas we may also see it as a diamond in the rough

If we compare the 3 innings:

1. The stroke which stood out - Stokes switch hit
2. The most epic drop - Healy off Lara
3. The most epic innings - Perera. The significance of this innings cannot be overestimated. Helped his team achieve the unthinkable. First Asian team to win a test series in SA. Also was a chanceless innings unlike the other two iirc.
