Stats draft-2014

Don't agree with Bradman being excluded again. After picking near last for the first round of fast bowlers and last for this round, Monk deserves the ability to choose Bradders.

People have chosen Bradman before in Drafts and not won.

I honestly believe that the gap in quality between Bradman and the Viv, Lara, Sachin, Sobers, Hobbs group isn't as large as the gap between Gilchrist and the rest of the "wicketkeeper batsmen" and definitely smaller than the gap between Murali and the other off spinners in history and Warne/ O'reilly over the other leggies.

I would like to go ahead and disagree with this entire post apart from the part in bold.

That's bad. Can't someone select Lara this round and Greg Chappell in the round for no. 4 and then decide to switch them in the order?
if both meet the criteria set earlier for the newer positions also, you are welcome to change the batting order any which way.

as for the don... i decided to exclude him at the very beginning... he is 1.5 or even two batsmen rolled into one, statistically... my fetish is to see 11 equally strong ATG teams form in front of my eyes... any team with him will look unnecessarily super strong with an unfair advantage... he is not available for anyone... so there is nothing unfair in not making him available for selection, i guess...

What do you mean no? People can't have the batting line-up as they want it to be like?
they can. just dont bring a random player up the order. if anyone else from your final team also suits the conditions set for the no.3 position, and your original no.3 meets the criteria for the just vacated slot, please go ahead make the swap if you feel like.

Bagapath I swear. Give me an inch, an outside inch of selecting Barry, and I will bat him at number 4.

Bagapath, out of curiosity, if you see Barry Richards drafted in a team rather than say Desmond Haynes, are you less likely to vote for that team (all else equal)?

if you are judging miss america, and if miss colarado happens to be a guy named william jackson in drag will you vote for him/her?

PS: that happens to be my 5000th post. depressing that it is about a drag queen.

Delete your 4999th post, and then we can all go back to being happy.

Round 5:

1. ankitj - Keith Miller
2. aldoRaine18 - Wasim Akram
3. weldone - Michael Holding
4. kingkallis - Ray Lindwall
5. harsh.ag - Joel Garner
6. coronis - Alan Davidson
7. morgieb - Shaun Pollock
8. kyear2 - Anderson Roberts
9. ohnoitsyou - Courtney Walsh
10. Camo999 - Rev. Wesley Hall
11. Monk - Mitchel Johnson

monk can go for a double pick now...

No.3 is a specialist position. He should be ready to drop anchor or attack immediately to nullify the opposition's glee in getting an opener out. He should bat long; and he should score big. He should be the spine of the batting line up. He should have scored at least 2000 runs, and averaged between 40 and 80 in that position - against non-minnows. Please select such a No.3 in Round 6.

Round 6:

1. monk - Sir Viv Richards
2. Camo999 - Brian Lara
3. ohnoitsyou - George Headley
4. kyear2 - Ricky Ponting
5. morgieb - Jacques Kallis
6. coronis
7. harsh.ag
8. kingkallis
9. weldone
10. aldoRaine18
11. ankitj

****! Because of the criteria I can't pick Kapil, Larwood or Bishop. Shafted getting late picks in both pace rounds!

I'll take Mitch Johnson, and Viv for my #3.

Viv Richards
---

Mark Boucher
Mitchell Johnson

Mitchell Johnson and Waqar Younis would have been some pair! John Snow and Shoaib Akhtar were good options too.
