He showed early promise when given an opportunity in a Warm- Up match against New Zealand in the 2007 World Cup.Boy! He responded with a bang! .
His stunning innings read: 46 in 48 balls with 6 dazzling fours and a massive six at an awesome SR of 95.98. Courtesy Tamim, Bangladesh eventually won that match by 2 wickets.

His Zimbabwe One day series looks impressive as records testify: Matches 5, Runs 300, HS 154,100S: 1, 50S: 2, AVG: 60, SR: 89.55 . By virtue of his excellent batting performance throughout the series he was selected Player of the series and rightly so.
Tamim is also an brilliant fielder and has some outstanding catches under his belt.
I sincerely hope BCB will take proper care to groom him into a World Class batsman.
