because hes a specialist batsman and captain, he needs to have some sort of impact before the bowlers are i with him. its like inzamam battting so low for pakistan its silly

With all due respect to the captain, Goff`s batting is not in the same league as Ul-Haqs. Goff`s batting is not proven at Test Level, or anywhere near it compared to Inzy.age_master said:because hes a specialist batsman and captain, he needs to have some sort of impact before the bowlers are i with him. its like inzamam battting so low for pakistan its silly
Well, except that Inzamam doesn't carry a career Test average of 27..age_master said:because hes a specialist batsman and captain, he needs to have some sort of impact before the bowlers are i with him. its like inzamam battting so low for pakistan its silly
Thanks again, Mr Stat.Samuel_Vimes said:Well, except that Inzamam doesn't carry a career Test average of 27..
A pleasure. *goes back to dusty archive of paperwork*Nnanden said:Thanks again, Mr Stat.
When he's in the live sim, he calls the shots, yeah. Think he can send in bowling orders and stuff if he wants to and has the time, plus he is a member of the selectors' panel.Robertinho said:Though, that said - is the Captain role in the CW XI simply a figurehead, or do they actually call the shots?
Just saw this. Thanks skip, it means alotmarc71178 said:Well you can hardly talk about that sort of thing
I'd say based on last season Camps is a batting option.age_master said:Butler as a batsman
Verghese as an all rounder
Hoy is the option i would go for there, wonderful bowler but also bats well defensivly - scored over 500 runs in the dev league at a Sr under 25.
Camps is similar to Hoy
the last 2 dont really weaken the bowling that much and still strengthen the batting
the first 2 are more batting options
I see him as like a Steve Waugh....kind of stodgy, gritty kind of batsman, quite ugly. His mind games would be similar too, up with sledging and not willing to back down from a verbal contest obout point of view or whatnot. And his bowling would be like the young Steve Waugh too, just stump to stump, low trajectory tight stuff.Nnanden said:Nah fair enough, I see Marc`s bowling a bit like Razzaq`s? Very glad Im not responsible for picking the team... hard job. Good luck
age_master said:i think he basically means that Pollock shouldn't be taking 6/27 vs the XI
My point is that Pollock has taken that against other teams before, and that taking it against us is not neccessarily the ultimate derogation.Robertinho said:Precisely. The CW XI should be better than that, and I'd expect you, our head coach, to know that
good call there, he averaged higher than most of the batsmenmarc71178 said:I'd say based on last season Camps is a batting option.
