It's not ideal but I don't think we have the options or options ready to push them out yet.

Think the ODI side in the next 12-18 months could look very difficult to the one at the next WC. They will need 2 years before the WC to get that in place.

Next WC in the sub too.

Not sure Shamsi is good enough with the ball to carry his batting and fielding. I wonder how quickly they will change that.

It might not be because of his all round ability (although that obviously helps his selection chances). Maybe they've spotted something about him and decided to bring him into the mix sooner or later. After all, they did that with Steyn and Rabada and that's paid dividends. Although it didn't work with Parnell, so they do need to manage Jansen carefully.

Think they wanted another left-arm option and seeing that him and Burger were in the emerging side they clearly got a look at both of them together too.

No franchise cricket bar 1 T20 game is a brave call. Watching him in the highlights I don't think he is overly quick at this stage but has a repeatable action and is 6ft plenty.

True. Concerning that it was a pacer that went through us, not a spinner, though.

At least with spin it's a weakness we can work on.

Those are just 2 examples of repeated failures benefiting from a weakened domestic system but even then the latter didn't have a good season last season.

Yeah I don't think we are going to get 2015 pitches in India this time. The Indian pace attack is good enough to give our batters trouble, Bumrah especially. So these guys getting knocked off by a pacer isn't a good sign.

Dane Piedt has really improved his batting btw, good to see a player go back to Franchise stuff and make himself more rounded.

Malan bothers me less, because he had a decent season last year. But then again he is 30 years old and is he a future for SA? Don't think so.

Isn't Moore a batsman? What is going on there?

And Muthusamy getting run out does now show some lack of mental acuity.

Never been a fan of Zondo,even playing for the Dolphins. I think there needs to be very specific instances for him to be effective. And that more so in LO games.
