Sohaib no longer the fastest...101.9 MPH!!!

I'm simply stunned!

Muhammad Sami had just bowled 101.9 mph in Peshawar ODI against India it was the last ball of 10th over - hit Dravid's chest pad!

Formerly Shoaib was the fastest bowler in the world as he bowled a delivery recorded 100.23 mph to Nick Knight of England in a WC 2003 match which, he blocked on the back-foot with an straight back.

:O :O :O

What's been his average speed for today? ie was it a fluke or has he been near enough to it all day?

Well if this is official, then there can be no complaints about it because Sami's action has no problems with it what-so-ever.

I'll be sure to watch that on the highlights tomorrow. Lucky Dravid was wearing a chest pad. :O

Oh my god!

101.9 mph?!

Thats insanely fast, im sure Dravid must've felt that ball, even if he was wearing a chest guard!

Any chance the speedometer is 'dodgy'?

Wow.
Not sure it's dodgy though or even a fluke.
Sami was recorded at 97.5 MPH during the last match and he had been reaching 95 constantly during the NZ tour.
I remember the first time he played in NZ, even at the age of 19 he could bowl at 89-90 MPH.

He has the potential to be one of the best future fast bowlers in Pakistan.

He just gives it away to easily and really needs to be more consistent.

5/30 odd in one innings, 0/130 odd in the next.

That is letting him down.

In the test series recently v NZ, his 2nd innings spell in the 1st test was brilliant..very quick & I think he took 6 or 7 wickets if im correct.

But then in the ODI series he was absolutely hammered...you're right, if he could get consistency he'd be a very fine bowler.

Actually, it was the other way around.
It was the same in his first tour of NZ.
8 wickets in the first test and failed pretty miserably in the next two. On debut too.
It was a fiver, Tim. And if it wasn't for the clouds and Vettori he would have gotten more.
It was like 52/7 and then 95 odd for 8 and then rain intervened.

No. I dont think so. The speed gun has been very dodgy today infact one of Shoaibs ball was clocked around 104 & then the next at 67 even though they both looked the same speed.

when did shoaib clock 104mph. his fastest of the day is 96mph delivery to ganguly. sami is the quicker of the two and even dravid struggles to play him.

In the last tour (just completed), Sami's pace actually went up the longer is spell went up.

No. He didn't.

During the interval between innings Charles Colville announced that although it appeared that this was the case, in fact the speed-camera was faulty and would probably have registered Mushy bowling at 90mph also.

Sorry to spoil the fun.

Also its almost impossible for a short ball to be that fast, nearly all of the fastest balls bowled are full length or full tosses.

So what if he doeasn't have a dodgy action, they have a dodgy speedometer for Sami....Hahaa.

IMO.. Sami is a pile of garbage, no point in bowling fast without any control.I reckon he will disappear from cricket world in a year

I could say the same about Zaheer Khan, but he doesn't even bowl fast
