Dunno if they should have won, but they certainly had the better chances, while we probably had more chances overall.

Australia missed Neill so much it wasn't funny - the defence was a shambles, but as you said Schwarz was brilliant. And to think, with all the practice he's going to get at Fullham next year, he'll probably get even better as a shot stopper.

Also think McDonald will go okay provided the right formation for him is played. You can say what you like re. Scottish football, but the bloke obviously has a damn good eye for goal. Hope he kicks on.

Also, if either Viduka or Kennedy played up front against that defence, they'd have scored plenty from headers.

Yeah AWTA completely. GFI imo. Reckon he'll defo be on in the second half if scores are level or worse at the break.

Australians getting massively booed during the anthem. Want to fly to Dubai and start something tbh.

Having to flick over between this and the Euro's every couple of minutes for the next two hours is going to be killer. Reckon we'll get grind out another jammy win though.

Stupid strategy this by Australia, playing so defensively. We haven't played like this for the last four matches, all of which we haven't been scored against. Dire.

Dire first half from Australia for mine, just waiting to lose. Will be angreh if we don't make some changes both in strategy and personnel in the second.

Goal was amazing though. Dont agree with the commentators, was looking to find the man on the far post, just got lucky.

Yep, Schwarzer had to come for the cross but it just kept going. Really harsh to blame him for that.

Not annoyed at this loss tbh. Will teach us to never again play like we did in the first half. Iraq, despite their underhandedness, fully deserve this win and were the better side.

EDIT: Haha, really can't stand Iraq's behaviour. Hmm. Well reffed game for mine aswell btw.

Looks like it will come down to the last lot of games now. Pretty big match v Qatar now, before the home match v China. A win there would secure a spot for either side pretty much.

Australia was always going to get done playing that defensive style of football. Neill should be back next game. We need him so bad in defensive, just for organisation if nothing else.

Reckon our ability to play in the heat in the Middle East is going to be a massive weakness in our side for a couple years to come. Really going to have to learn how to get results their if we want to make the next WC. Will make or break our campaign IMO.

Pretty sure Australia didn't do it to Iraq, which was why it was rather disappointing.

Stupid tactic to try and play defensive last night for mine, it was always fraught with danger and it basically nullified any impact our best player in Kewell might have had. Would've brought Bresc on instead of Lolman has well.

Yeah but Australia would be one of only handful of countries that don't go it. It really is just a normal part of International football these days. Not really a positive part, but something you have to get used to.

I very much doubt that it's common practice to charge opposing fans up to 20 times more for tickets as well. I also doubt that it's common practice in international football to have to require a commissioner from a governing body to step in, in order for the away team to have reasonable use of facilities. Say it's "just a part of international football" all you like, but it doesn't make it anymore acceptable, or and less pathetic and it shouldn't be something you just have to get used to.

Only in certain parts of the world from what I've seen.
