Unfortunately it seems as though a lot of those tickets that went in the first two hours also happened to go to scalpers. :(

Qld Roar have signed Danny Tiatto for next season...

A good get for them, his experience could be the difference between coming 4th or 5th...

Muscat v Tiatto should be a interesting battle. A bit surprised there as he was saying only last year that he wanted to finish his career in England and had no real interest in the A-League. I guess Frank Farina must have changed his mind or his status changed in England.

or maybe he got over himself, i think a lot of the European based players consider themselves too good for the A League...

Just an update from the U23s, Australia beat Chinese Taipei 1-0 in the 2nd leg with Mark Milligan scoring. I think they went with a very much 2nd string side in the 2nd match as they won 11-0 in the first round. Also does continue the trend of how much harder away games seem to be in Asia at all levels.

The Olyroos got put into Group D with Iran, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, with their first match against Iran in Tehran on Feb 28. Really, really hard group with Saudi Arabia the clear favorites and Iran and Jordan pretty good at U23 level. All three teams are going to be very hard to beat at home. Hopefully we get most of European players back for these ties, as we are going to need them. Also i think a few of these matches fall on the same time as ACL matches so Sydney and Adelaidle players might be out too.

EDIT:

Group A: Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Pakistan
Group B: Japan, Malaysia, Syria, Hong Kong
Group C: Oman, Lebanon, Vietnam, Indonesia
Group D: Iran, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Australia
Group E: Iraq, DPR Korea, Thailand, India
Group F: Korea Republic, UAE, Uzbekistan, Yemen

As you can see due to Australia lack of a seed, they got a put into the hardest group. But with the top two going through Australia should still make the 2nd round with Saudi Arabia, but Iran are ranked higher.

That's a good get. Leicester fans loved him. Think he was their captain for a while and he played regularly for them this season too. Should be a good midfielder to have.

Victory 3 nil after 40 minutes and with one man advantage after Alosi got sent off. Looks like Melbourne are the new champions.

it's great for the league that Melbourne will win, not so that they are doing it so easily. A shame it hasnt been a closer match but the victory are just a class above...

Sarkies goal was a cracker, Adelaide really let us down by not giving us a better game to watch. Sure the goals were great but id have prefered a closer game...
