Was listening to a Kimber podcast yesterday and they were talking about how the great batsmen always rose to or needed a challenge. Don't know how true that was, but Lara always seemed more pumped for his duels with McGrath and Warne than anyone else.

Could all be bull **** or excuses though, or just tired after long Aussie tours.

To topic, Sobers for me over Hutton.

Sobers was capable of taking over an attack unlike any other during his era, while in comparison Hutton was often criticized for not dominating even weaker attacks.

They both have their place in the game and top tier, but Sobers is ahead for me.

Sobers peak was monstrously crazy as well, and I think he was a bit more tested across conditions, brilliant in Aus(considering the innings in which he dominated Lillee as well), ATG in England and India and at home.
