Sheffield Shield Fantasy Comp 2015/16 - Merged Thread

I have no problem with another round to strengthen our squads. The only problem would most likely be with Group A due to the fact they've fallen behind & might struggle to get 14 players selected let alone 15.

Group who?

Nah we have to stick with 14 IMO. It was part of the challenge in drafting players you think will be available.

The only dodge thing is group A will have the chance of knowing who is playing in round 1 while group B didn't.

Assuming Dan is sticking with Hoges (and damn I was soooo close to picking him myself)

Then it's Morgie to finish us off.

Everyone could email me like 12 picks to sheepdraft@gmail.com and hopefully that'd get us through 3 or so rounds within a short space of time. If it is your team you could still pick of course. Just trying to get this starting before the season.

Carters and Sandhu dropped from the NSW squad to play for the CA XI, so they can warm the bench. Doherty vs. Boyce is a tough call, but I reckon Xavier at home vs. the WA bats will fare slightly better than a travelling Boyce. Hopefully both George and Hogan play, otherwise I'm screwed.

DanMania XI: Round One
1. Cameron Bancroft
2. Nathan Reardon
3. Steven Smith
4. Tom Cooper
5. Moises Henriques
6. Matthew Wade
7. James Hopes
8. Michael Hogan
9. Xavier Doherty
10. Jackson Bird
11. Peter George
---
12. Ryan Carters
13. Gurinder Sandhu
14. Cameron Boyce

I'll roll the dice on Will Bosisto. I think with potentially all of Bancroft, the Marshes and Voges on Australian duties he'll get some games especially later in the season and he was one of the most promising Under 19 bats a few years back IIRC.

Well done Group B for getting through the 14 rounds so quickly.

The biggest selection shock was Michael Beer finding a home.

Trent Copeland not getting selected was strange. Would've picked him but needed a batsman given that the most likely players I'll lose to Australian selection are Khawaja and Faulkner.

Tbh I thought Beer would have been WA's first choice spinner, oh well.

According to the MCC website, the Shield opener between Qld & Vic at the MCG is going to be a day/night match with the final session ending at 9pm!

Think I might head down to the 'G on Wednesday & catch a bit of pink ball action.
