Don't like Dravid b.c he knows only one way to play and that;s to play defensive. He can never adapt his game to the situation. Also Im voting to players who have played MAJORITY of the decade.

Hence why it's Ponting, Kallis and Sachin.

Well if we're going to go by that logic, we should be picking Samaraweera, Yousuf and Chanderpaul in this poll.
HA..no comparison at all. Kallis stop being a quality test all-rounder since WI 2001. His batting is what took off this decade. Kallis hasn't taken a 5 wicket haul in test since ENG 2003.

Kallis never had an all-rounder series againts a quality opposition comparable to what Flintoff did in the Ashes. Flintoff was clearly the all-rounder of the decade IMO.

Overall it all depends on how everyone balances their team personally. You can possibly pick Kallis as one of your 3 middle order batsmen of the decade & sitll pick Flintoff in the team as well to bat @ # 6/7. But given my team of the decade goes like:

Langer
Hayden
Ponting
Lara
Dravid
Sangakkara/Gilchrist (still deliberating)
Flintoff
Warne
Akhtar
Murali
McGrath

Flintoff works for me as the all-rounder.

Yo son behave, there is no need to call the man an idiot. He makes a very valid point about Dravid. Outside of his 177 in the first test vs SRI the other day, i have never seen or read of Dravid playing a test innings where he so aggressive. All of his innings follow a common defensive trend - thats why he is the "The Wall".

It was his comment about players having played the majority of the decade.

Went for Ponting, Dravid and Kallis.

Would probably have done so anyway, but especially with Hayden and Sehwag the openers, and Gilly the probable keeper, two guys like Rahul and Jacques give the middle order a very nice solidity about it.

Went for The Punter at 1 drop.
After him the man that blazed 390 in a day.
Then Kallis the Unyielding,
which makes place for Flintoff.

Flintoff has taken 3 5 wicket hauls in that time and hasn't scored a Test Century since August 2005.

Kallis is easily good enough to walk into this side as a batsman alone, his bowling is an added bonus. Whereas neither of Flintoff's disciplines are strong enough on their own to warrant selection.
