Scorecard Draft

Somerset

Cricketer Of The Year
Thanks :) I'm against the 12th round personally. Let's give it some more time to get a few more opinions in.
To be honest I'm with Joe on this matter - if you have to select a lesser known player in early eras of the game because someone's left you with a dud scorecard, then thats just part of the game. In saying that I don't mind all that much if we select that 12th player though would prefer to stick to 11.

We weren't all waiting to get to the pre war era, I'm just looking for an opportunity to select Mike Garnham.

Then I read the 10 cap minimum rule. Damn.
True that. Might just have a read through this thread and disallow the extra pick for those who had their pinky finger extended at the start.

Whatever it takes!!!
Real men balance teams in 11 rounds. I don't get it. When the draft started, people were all snobby and couldn't wait to get to the Pre War era. Now that we've been there, people realise it wasn't all that flash and they'd prefer to make an extra pick from more conventional and well known eras.
issue is that not everyone had to make that many picks in that era.. people always got the easier way out and so we need 12 rounds to balance it fairer (still wont' obviously be completely fair, unless the 12th round has all the guys who had to pick twice in the 19th century at the top)...

Don't think being in the top or bottom makes that much of a difference in this draft.

I'm personally for 12 men .

It will not make a difference to most teams that much in any case as by the time comes to pick the 12th man all the best players would have gone already . But it will give a chance to balance the team and replace the majorly unknown 19 th century players for those who had to make 2 picks there.

With the Random order being used to the 12th round will be the opposite of the 11th round and the longer the draft goes the interesting the picks will get with so many drafters.

If we do end up having a 12th round, I'm going to try my hardest to make sure we get right back to the 19th century at the start of that round.

Not opening with Trumper and Shrewsbury??
Subject to later selections. I prefer the idea of Trumper batting down the order.

Not worried too much about the batting, I figure no matter which era you are in (well not pre WW1), you always have 10-15 really solid batsman to choose from. Bowlers, keepers and all-rounders, snap them up.
