Scorecard Draft

I'll take this macartney hack. Sick of looking at scorecards.

1st Test: England v Australia at Nottingham, Jun 12-15, 1926 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com

Couldn't take about my first 8 choices, sick of this diabolical game. At least kingkallis's team can now be discarded and there can be a fair discussion because bradman wont be in the mix.
Hey dude, why would they discard my team???

I had picked O'Rielly and didnt actually know about the rule thats why I wanted to check again! We had a client and his work was in the final phase thus couldnt spend more time on CI.

Good pick in Macartney TBH - I'd heard little about him before I picked him for one of my sides in a draft a year or so ago, and have taken the opportunity to read up on him since.

As for missing picks deliberately for strategic reasons, I think its somewhat poor form - the draft is for fun at the end of the day, and I know some take it to another level with spreadsheets, etc. but if you're in a bad situation then just run with it!!

Aubrey Faulkner is a fantastic pick. Sorts out the All Rounder problem for sure..

He's always my trump card  Gutted you've got him now.

EDIT: Michaelf7777777 to go from Faulkner, not McCartney.

kingkallis with the most awesome trio now IMO. Even disregarding Bradman's advantage, he's got a top class ATG batsman, arguably the best quick, and an ATG all rounder that fills in for both a batsman and leg spinner. After Bradman and Faulkner, I feel like I'm making all the selections for him though :p

Dude, the way you twisted my leg by deliberately selecting that scorecard, I aint gonna forget that!

Bradman, Marshall and O'Rielly would have been better! :D

Hey, handing over the Don on a silver platter makes up for a dozen screw-overs easily. Stop playing the victim!

Debatable. It certainly aids in balance when composing a side.
Well, Lloyd's West Indies didn't have an all-rounder, neither did Warne-McGrath's Australia. But those sides were more successful than Sobers' West Indies, Imran's Pakistan, Botham's England, Faulkner's South Africa or Kapil's India, no?

6 good batsmen, 4 good bowlers and a wicketkeeper who can hold a bat makes a very good test lineup. Of course, I'm not saying that if you have a champion all-rounder at your disposal, you shouldn't use it. All I'm saying is that an all-rounder isn't a necessity in a test squad.

Agree its not a necessity. Extremely useful to have one though, not least because I have one of the best ;)

Isn't necessary but great when you have one.
