Was that sarcastic about Marsh?
@Marcuss: have you gone mad?Nope, I and weldone are good friends!
For my money, Hobbs > Hutton > Gavaskar > SutcliffeHobbs > Hutton imo.
Imran with a fair shout for the slot as well.Keith Miller instead of Hadlee imo.
That would disturb the bowling hugely...I have Gilly @ 7 so who needs Miller than? Need a bowling all rounder and Hadlee was superb...Keith Miller instead of Hadlee imo.
Miller was a bowling all rounder. He just happened to bat a lot better then Hadlee. That would disturb the bowling hugely...I have Gilly @ 7 so who needs Miller than? Need a bowling all rounder and Hadlee was superb...
Bowling Joe Bowling...Miller was a bowling all rounder. He just happened to bat a lot better then Hadlee.
Agree with that. An all-time XI needs to have 4 bowlers of the top-most class. While Miller was an exceptional bowler, he was just a shade below the top-most class, which is the class of Hadlee, Murali, Marshall, O'Reilly, McGrath, Barnes, Imran etc etcThat would disturb the bowling hugely...
3 - Don, Marshall and O'ReillyMy top 22 might be as follows:
First XI:
Len Hutton
Jack Hobbs
Donald Bradman*
Walter Hammond
Sachin Tendulkar
Garfield Sobers
Adam Gilchrist+
Richard Hadlee
Malcolm Marshall
Sydney Barnes
Muttiah Muralitharan
Second XI:
Herbert Sutcliffe
Sunil Gavaskar
George Headley
Brian Lara
Viv Richards
Keith Miller
Imran Khan*
Les Ames+
Wasim Akram
Bill O'Reilly
Glenn McGrath
I've got 2 among 22. What about others?
Definately missing Damien Martyn at 4 here. Amateurs.Best possible playing XI
4. Sachin Tendulkar [ Somerset ] ( Thaught of Hammond @ No.4 but honestly SRT has a better record and we all know how fine player he is )
I personally feel these are the possibly best 11 we can choose from ALL 18 teams.
True Bryce McGain is missing too!Definately missing Damien Martyn at 4 here. Amateurs.
Especially mine.and some quality write-ups at the completion.
