I always suspected PEWS was biased against Indian players. I think we all did.Fun to a see a moderator go off the rails because they can't stand to see an India player do well
In Sangakkara’s case, his keeping is also a factor in rating him as an overall player.Really don't get the overrating of batting in terms of impact tbh. No one here's made a reasonable case for anyone who isn't Bradman/an AR in similarly rated comps.
I rated Sanga. But its laughable to say its not at least a dsicussion when you are dealing with a bowler with Ashwin's track record. In Sangakkara’s case, his keeping is also a factor in rating him as an overall player.
But keeping is still not as valuable of a skill vs batting or bowling. And in Sanga's case, he doesn't rise dramatically or is superior in this comp because of it, as well as the fact that he didn't keep all the time.In Sangakkara’s case, his keeping is also a factor in rating him as an overall player.
Sangakkara the Batsmen is superior to Ashwin the bowler by enough of a margin for 25 averaging batting to not matter.Really don't get the overrating of batting in terms of impact tbh. No one here's made a reasonable case for anyone who isn't Bradman/an AR in similarly rated comps.
I don't really see it.Sangakkara the Batsmen is superior to Ashwin the bowler by enough of a margin for 25 averaging batting to not matter.
I hear they have these wonderful things called glassesI don't really see it.
I don't see how Sanga is better though? There's quite a few caveats with his records that are similar to Ashwin's, even putting aside batting vs bowling evaluations.I hear they have these wonderful things called glasses
Well Sanga only averages 47 outside Asia. That’s 7 whole average worse!what's the issue with Sangakkara's record as big as Ashwin averaging 40 outside Asia (minus the carribean)?
Gilchrist is the greatest IMOSanga, no second thoughts.
one of the top 3 greatest batsman keeper, if not the greatest.
The top 3 batsmen keeper thing depends on how strict one is on the definition of keeper. Does ABD count for example, whose record is by far the best as a batter who also kept wickets? Sanga's average fell massively while keeping, hence I wouldn't have him keeping if I wanted him at his best.Sanga, no second thoughts.
Great batsman and one of the top 3 greatest batsman keeper, if not the greatest.
Ashwin is a Great bowler, however not a top rung all rounder.
Decision should be easy.
That means if he has not kept he would have massively averaged more than 57. That makes argument for Ashwin more difficult. The top 3 batsmen keeper thing depends on how strict one is on the definition of keeper. Sanga and Flower are better batsmen who kept than Gilchrist.Gilchrist is the greatest IMO
Is it bias to say that he primarily only performs well on tailor made surfaces? No but you can't deny Ashwin's results. Well you can but only because of bias etc.
Genuinely interested as to what your top 10 test cricketers looks like if you don't mind.Really don't get the overrating of batting in terms of impact tbh. No one here's made a reasonable case for anyone who isn't Bradman/an AR in similarly rated comps.
