ok people.....Sami was the man who led Saudi Arabia to victory in the world u-17 cup in 1989, Asian cup triumphs, was instrumental in them qualifying for the WC and scored one of the most famous goals of all time v Belgium at USA 1994.

Doies he have any rivals for the title of greatest footballer that Asia has produced ?

hmm, im guessing most people don't know who he is?

"Cha Bum-kun, the free-scoring Korean striker, is widely regarded as the best footballer ever to come out of Asia, and one of the best players the world has ever produced. He was selected as the "Asia's best player of the century" by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. He won the MVP of the Bundesliga in 85~86 season, and until the record broke in 1999, he held the most goals scored by a foreigner title in the Bundesliga. The German fans couldn't pronounce his name well, so they simply called him "Cha Boom", resonating his thunderous ball striking ability."

No other Asian player has been as big a success in europe imo.
