Warnies 99 in perth and the best moment i've seen in cricket WHEN I HAVE BEEN THERE would be either the Vic Nsw tie (that was just amazing) or Harvey running out Ganguly earlier this year at the G'

The stupid rain rule thing which left them needing like 21 off 1 ball in the 1992 WC when they were looking like winning easily.
Winning easily, my foot... 22 off 13 is not easy

Brian McMillan (one of the hardest hitters you're (:P) ever gonna find) & Dave Richardson in , both striking over a run a ball , the momentum has surged in the last couple of overs.
Botham has been bowled out , leaving DeFreitas & the here to fore erratic Chris Lewis to finish things off.
Perhaps I should re-phrase 'easy'.
But honestly who would you have put your money on.

Here is the card for reference.

Honestly, I wouldn't have touched that from a betting point of view.

It was finely balanced until the rain rule spoilt things.

NZs defeat to Pakistan at the 1992 World Cup. We were easily the best side of the tournament. It was all going well when Crowe got injured. From there we probably should have won but we didn't. Sure I was only 6, but I was so sad. Had we beaten Pakistan that day, we would have won the final fo sho...
That by far is my worst cricketing memory.
I was 9 at the time, it was my earliest cricketing memory bar the home series against England before it.

1) Batsman not being credited for good innings when they are dropped early.

2) Batsman not being creditied for great innings just because they were against weak sides, and even if it was a world record.

Although I am English, I happen to be a huge Shane Warne fan, andI forgot this one...

Warnie's 99.

Warne is god reminded me. I was watching that at about 5 a.m. over here in England.

Sachin's innings, while suffering from a back injury, going in vain in India vs. Pakistan in 1999 I think.

I mentioned this innings in the "Best innings by an injured player" thread too.

After an amazing effort, it was just too sad that Sachin couldn't stay till the end to see India home. India went under a mini-collaspe after his fall, to lose... but just barely...

When you consider the extreme delaying tactics by the South Africans that meant that England only received 45 of the allotted 50 overs in the time and thus missed 5 overs with 2 settled batsman creaming the ball around (which is what they had) - I call it poetic justice.

What goes around comes around.

Klusener not hitting Damien Fleming into the outskirts of Warwickshire in 1999.

Some more when I think of it.

How is that?

I always thought Edgbatson is in Birmingham and Birmingham is in Warwickshire.

You have me stumpted. Just like Ramps ran down the wicket at 100mph to Warne at Trent Bridge and got stumpted.

Reminding me nicely of another sad moment.

Nass getting stumped by Gilly off the bowling of Warnie by yards after some sledging had been going on.

England had been winning comfortably, but ended up losing...:(

Birmingham's not in Warwickshire.
Birmingham is in West Midlands (not Warwickshire)
Old Trafford is in Greater Manchester (not Lancashire)
Benoni is in Gauteng, even though its home to Easterns

The resemblence between this event and the one mentioned in your quote is uncanny.
Same bowler, same sledging, same delivery, same shot, same wicketkeeper, same result, same nationality of batsman.
Only difference was the colour of the clothes.

Tell me, pray, how does a batsman deserve credit for a dropped catch?
Was it sad that Gilchrist was caught by Giles at gully at The 'Gabba in the first-innings in 2002\03, because otherwise he would have gone on to regain the record for fastest Test double-century?
A dropped catch and a caught catch are the same as far as the batsman's ability is concerned.
