Need a bit of height near the back of the line-out.

LAURENT RODRIGUEZ

Because when you're not showing the world how overrated Buck Shelford is, you're knocking on before sending Serge Blanco over the try line.

I thought we could pick players based on their best form since 1987? I would've picked Porta earlier on in this thing if he performed like he did against Wales in 1978. I've seen that French front-row from 1987 and they were fantastic. Brian Lochore even admitted the French probably had the better scrum in 1987.

If we're doing this on peak, then I'm fine with picking Dubroca based on his 1987 World Cup campaign.

Is it me now?

I'll complete me front row with Tom Smith at loose head. Another very mobile prop and a good enough scrummager to be selected ahead of Jason Leonard in the last successful Lions tour.

Juan Martin Hernandez at #15 (ARG) ...also plays 10 and kicks goals so good cover for Larkham, looks an absolute menace around the park as well.

Brett Papworth (#12)
A novel choice, but Papworth only played in 1987 for our purposes and didn't play much that year. He played maybe three/four games in the World Cup, went off 20 minutes into the semi final against France with an injury. I think he went to Argentina later that year where Australia lost 0-1 in a two Test series (I'm not sure of that though). I vaguely recall a story where Papworth tried to convince Farr-Jones to go to Argentina that year.

Still after Campese and O'Connor, he's the best broken-field runner I've seen play for Australia. His defence was a bit suspect though.
