Yup, occasionally stepped over the mark, but kinda bloke you'd want in the trenches with you. Remember his hit on Villasanti in the 2002 GF after he'd got a cheap shot in on Fittler just before. Exactly what you want in a prop. From YouTube.

Although in the debit column there's this beauty on Robbie Kearns after 12 seconds of the first Ashes test in 2003. Fair to say he was pumped for it...

That one on Kearns reminded me of Peter Kelly's for Canterbury v Souths on Anzac Day in the mid-80s.


Canterbury kicked off, Kelly got sent for a stiff arm 1st tackle of the match. As he ran off he passed Warren Ryan in the tunnel, the coach was making his way to the sideline and asked Kel if he'd forgooten his mouthguard!

True, though I think he played a bit of lock back end of his career. These days a centre is a second rower is a lock anyways, or so it seems.
