ROW All Star Thread

Slats4ever

International Vice-Captain
Newsflash from ROW headquarters

Manager Slats4ever has elected himself to go out and meet the media at Hansie Cronje Bar and Cafe to answer their questions, he still wouldn't however answer the question, where are these guys training and why are they being so quiet, he did however answer the following.

Has there has been an element of disharmony amongst some of the players from Karnatak and Mumbai about neither their managers getting selected?
Some players like Darden and Kale did express their dissapointment, yes but it is not stopping them putting in 100% at training, the guys want to perform for their region and they will all be pushing hard for selection.

On Darden, he has had an average year, people are saying he may not be selected?
We're not revealing anything yet, not until the play offs are out of the way, expect an announcement by Tuesday, but Dardsie has shown some positive form in the nets, and we'll just have to see how he guys over the next week as to whether or not he is in the top 5 batsman going around.

The UK side has told the world that they are the side to beat in OD and 4day, and Oceania claim that they too are the side to beat, do you have a chance combining all these different styles of cricket into 1?
Sure it's a valid question, there's no doubt getting the trickery of the Indian side to mix and gel with the South Africans will be hard, but this is such a talented group it's only a small problem and the managerial team we have here are a great one and we will over come it.

There has been talk of a romantic relationship between Cloete and one of the players blossoming, is this true?
Look the side involve themeselves in some hardcore partying on the streets of "secret location". Unfortunately for Cloete he's not the best looking and the same can be said for one of our team mates, they usually end up back in the hotel room together, it's ashame really, but for me I'm enjoying the ladies.

Finally, can you do it? Probably the side going in as underdogs, do you see yourself being able to beat the strength of the other two teams?
Without doubt, our side is brilliant, Combining the brilliance of Colts, Mumbai, Karnatak and Western Province, combined with the individual brilliance from the other sides, we have a very solid outfit both one day and four day and we are going to give this thing a real go, we're confident.

well maybe they're not females afterall? and just to clear things up, Ian's a little jealous because i've been getting all the actual ladies. while ian thinks he's getting ladies, he's actually getting it on with transexuals ;).

on a more serious note the four-day team finished their selections a few days ago. but we are unsure on whether to post.

The Rest Of World Four-Day All Star team has been decided by Ian(Slats4ever) and Andrew(Cloete - Me). It's a much awaited squadron of players, ready to do battle with the best around the world. Waqar Younis and A Kale have been named captain and vice-captain respectively. Both are expected to lead from the front. This is Younis' last season of an extraodinarily good career. He has played many ODI's and Tests as both a player and a captain for Pakistan. Younis will be able to bolster the bowling and add alot of consistency. Kale on the other hand will hold the, young but classy, batting order. The likes of Darden, Llewellyn and Graham are expected to fire. While Kale and Sehwag will mantain the much needed consitency. In cases of rotations, Darden will step up to vice-captaincy should the case be needed. The team is expected to provide many a sell-out around the many grounds all over the world. Special thanks and best of luck go out to Neil and Shooter (Andrew - age_matser). Hopefully we can both btring home the trophies for the ROW. Here's the hopefully conquering ROW team to match it off with the other big guns:

W Younis (Captain - Mumbai)
A Kale (Vice-Captain - Karnataka)
T Darden (Mumbai)
R Llewellyn (Western Province)
V Sehwag (Colts)
S Graham (Mumbai)
W Anderson (Colts)
L Ronchi (Jamaica)
T Arasu (Tamil Nadu)
M Beasley (Colts)
T Petal (Mashonaland)
I Nelson (Western Province)
M Shrinivas (Tamil Nadu)
J Lawson (Guyana)
C Vaas (FS)
F Maqbool (Karachi)

Guys you have selected M.Burns of Mashonaland, just a question do you plan on using him as a keeper cause if you don't you may have the same problem with him that Rik had this season were he will bowl the opening over of each game when he plays...

I can fix this however he will not be able to keep once its done... So let me know ASAP

I don't think we're planning on using him full stop.

Either Naidu or Parlane will keep.
He averages 41, didn't have that bad a year either. I think he would probably get a game :)
